HOW BABIES ARE MADE- Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Crew Learns About Humans

- Let's be honest, being a child soldier with 10 years to live and starting out as a young adult means you haven't the slightest clue about the natural progression of life, such as romance, babies, how they're made, or about aging. And this is the scene where they get a real life lesson.
This is by far my favorite moment in the entire game and I'm so glad I was able to capture and share it with others. - Hry
Seeing Taion so excited over a baby. Was just so adorably out of character for him. I just love this moment in general. Also yeah having a new born grab your finger is a magical moment
I think it's appropriate for talon's character, considering how new and fascinating it is for him.
Not out of character. The guy who likes to study almost everything in aionios is fascinated by what he perceives as a scientific discovery. I mean for crying out loud the dude knows the why ardun and armu have different names
I honestly wasn't expecting that from him 😂 I thought that was such a wholesome moment for all of them. Now if only 👀👀
I was so afraid for him 😂 I feared the baby start crying !
I don't think getting excited over a baby makes him out of character since all six of them had been soldiers for years and they didn't realize the true meaning of life till they came across this town full of romance and learning how babies come from without cloning.
This is defnetly among my top 5 favorite scenes the entire game. The innocent curiosity. The delivery of emotions, and best of all, them being so eager to know how this wonderful process works. It's not just their given lifespans, they are in many ways, still children themselves, and this wholesomely reminds us of this fact.
Same
Same. Only on chapter 5 and this is my favourite scene so far.
Ya awesome scene all around…. One of my favs … also to see Taion react so was great lol.
well people sometimes forget, despite how old are you, deep down, there is your young youth in yourself
Taion’s enthusiasm is adorable
I know right! I was dying at that part
I love his enthusiasm for the baby, it made me die with how adorable Taion was being. Out of all of the team, I can see Taion wanting a baby the most.

Everyone raising their hand to the “How babies are made” question makes me laugh knowing damn well how it goes.😂😂
Even Riku and Manana! I'm going to assume that they obviously know about Nopon mechanics and were just curious if humans worked in a similar way or something. :)
The best is if you have Alexandria as your hero and walk towards the maternity ward Alexandria says she wants to observe the process of creating babies.

This is a contender for best scene in the series. Any newborn scene you see, you may go “it’s like they never seen a baby in their life before” but here, they literally never seen a baby in their life! This goes to show what the cast was robbed of
The innocence of the entire party raising their hands when asked about how babies are made
I was robbed of the aftermath of awkward faces getting the whole rundown of the birds and the bees. ROBBED!
That's what fanfics and fan art/comics are for.
All of the party members’ reactions:
Noah: *looks at Mil* …I-I mean, technically we did it before? So it’s not THAT bad.
Mio: Mmhmm, r-right, yeah.
Lanz: OH! ….W-Well, good to know then. At least I know that my ‘little guy’ has some more uses other than goin’ to the bathroom. Right Sena?
Sena: E-Eheheh… y-yeah, right…. oh spark, am I really gonna have to push one out at one point?!
Taion: I-I have to put my WHAT in her WHERE?!
Eunie: *smirks devilishly*

That’s something Xenoblade 2 would do. This one has way more class
This scene made me tear up a little.
It's such a bright moment of innocence in a world drowning in war.
Same here chapter 5 is super deep I feel like I'm going to be crying at the end of this chapter
This is what a real videogame is about. This scene hits HARD when you realize how lucky we are every single day. And how beatiful is to get old with all those memories and feelings. In all my Gamer life I've never seen anyone execute a common real life scene so beatiful and heartwarming like this! This game deserve a spot at the GOTY nominations.
It really struck home when you capitalized the G in Gamer.
You say that last part like the GOTY awards matter at all.
Yeh it is “Beatiful”. Sorry I had to.
My wife has only paid infrequent, occasional attention to this game while I've been playing. But the minute I got to Swordmarch all of the "discovering humanity" scenes whisked away her attention. This is all the further I am in the game at the moment and feel I'm risking encountering unintentional spoilers just being here, but man, these scenes are unbelievably powerful.
Taion's laugh was the most precious thing. Like his reaction had me squealing from how adorable he was
This was probably one of the most adorable and wholesome moments in all JRPG, this whole game feels so mature and emotional compared to most JRPG
I feel like it knows how to really cut deep. In one short cutscene it highlights so many of the key interpersonal relationships that define who we are as humans. I feel like a lot of times people in the modern world lose sight of these simple relationships and interactions that give our lives meaning, and it's good to be reminded of that. I think the struggle of human beings to rediscover and reclaim their humanity in the face of an inhuman world really resonates, I know it did for me.
The next major cutscene at the end of chapter 5 is also just as good. It's over an hour long.
Nioh kneeling down with his toddler sun after Mio dies. You, you don't have to be alone. Me and your mom can't be there too protect you any more and believe me we wish we could.
But I leave our hopes and dreams with you.
Imagine being a Dad who takes his son to the safest place he can find for like a 4 year old to survive in this world and starts seeing his death sprites appearing.
@@charlesacker9174 "You should name it. You're good at naming things, right?"
*Look at his sword* "...Nope, you should."
Then again, having a child named something like "Child of the end" or "toddler of eternity" would probably be quite weird.
The bits that have stuck with me in all three games have been when they've put something that would be relatively mundane in our world that becomes fantastical within the context of the game world.
Seeing Klaus, a guy in a labcoat in Xeno 1 hits you like a truck as you realise what the Bionis and Mechonis are. Seeing street signs and tarmac roads in Morytha is chilling. And Here a baby become magical.
Ever played Xenogear?
Riku, put your goddamn hand down.
Dude deserves an Oscar for that.
Shhh you'll blow his cover
Let me tell you I cried through this whole scene, it was just so well executed
A game that talks about the subject of death and having to live your life to the best of your capabilities, doing the thing that you want to do and think is right, a game about sacrifices, where death is always looming
After the adrenaline that was the fight for the destruction of the anihalator where the party lost a lot and also discovered a lot, this was the break I needed from the action
I have never seen the joys of seeing a new born so well represented in a game or any form of media for that matter, seeing the pure bliss of the whole party and especially Taion was amazing, seeing Noah and Mio start to discover the concept of love and romance was also very enjoyable and filled me with satisfaction, this game has been so good to play, the twists land even after I think I figured what the story direction might be, the music fucking slays, the gameplay is very good and then to top it all off you have these scenes that show these soldiers who were born to fight discover what life really is
I wasn't sure if xenoblade 3 would stand out among the previous 2 games, I knew it was going to be good, but now I can say that this game came in a very important point in my life and that, even though I haven't finished it yet, I know will be an experience to remember
They found out how beautiful life is and that made my whole week
its not that serious
I absolutely agree, they had never gained a knowledge of those precious elements of life because those were taken from them. They had never known the concept of, let alone seen, a baby. What else could symbolize so clearly for them the notion of hope and the future?
Yeah it was well executed.
I mean also in the bath scene at the beginning, both Lanz and Eunie had no issues for bathing together. As child soldier they never learn the difference between genders except the physique
Which is a cool detail to the setting. They are literally treated as soldiers and not "Humans", which is why giving birth is an Alien concept. The Queen "Birthing" them is literally a reference to a Hive Mind, which is really what loyal soldiers are to the end.
That might explains why Noah, Eidue, and Lans (including other soldiers) doesn't have any issues between opposite genders in the bath house scene.
Just completely disgusting and tasteless... As much as I'm thankful that they cut the fan service from the previous game but many of the themes in this one are just disgusting...

I think it was scenes like this that really stood out to me how throughout the game the crew discover things that should be common knowledge or just stuff you think as no big deal then you you realize that despite looking like late teens/early 20s they're really just a bunch 10 yr olds
It’s such a small thing but my favorite moment of this scene is when you first hear the baby cry and Mio turns her head around and the ears move slightly. Mio really is just the cutest part of the whole game
This - and when she had a tiny skip in her step to get ahead of the group and take a closer look. Such beautifully subtle animation, for sure!
That look Noah and Mio give eachother is really all you need for the budding emotions they harbor already.
We don't need an overblown scene with characters flustered at the thought of MAYBE having something more than friendship between them, like so many JRPGs and anime do... We just need this slight glance and smile, and we understand...
Whats great was that they took thier time to get thier. It was a natural evolution of Aquiantance>Cameraderie > Friendship of the course of 40 hours
before we even got the first awkward blush scene.
So when it hit, it didn't feel forced but rather an extension of them learning more about life beyond war. It was effectively subtle and convincing at first.
Even iconic JRPG couples like Yuna and Tidus started the whole romance arc minutes after they met.
although this is a good scene this is exactly how, like, every anime reactions are though its not any different

When you notice everyone from Agnus raises their right and while the Kevesi raise their left.
Not gonna lie, when I first saw my baby niece, i acted the EXACT same as Taion
This scene captured the excitement and magic about new life being born
I just saw this cutscene, and it's so cute. I love Taion's surprisingly excited reaction. And the way Mio and Noah look at each other...
I'm not done playing through yet but I had a pretty intense emotional reaction to this scene. Something about the music and the cinematography and these characters just got me. The VAs really sold it and are phenomenal
Same here this scene was emotional because these characters have been through a lot and this scene was just perfect also Taion's reaction was funny 😂

The thing that hits the hardest here is the context behind the amazement they are experiencing here. I broke down in tears once Mio was allowed to touch the newborn. This scene is chalk full of wonder and innocent joy; seeing everyone's reaction coupled with music was extraordinary. Easily one of my favorite scenes in a Xenoblade Chronicles game ever.
Taion melting and laughing for joy fucked me up.
Chapter 5 is easily the best in the game & this is one of the many examples why
Just seeing all the cast being so enthusiastic learning about the beauty of child birth (especially Taion I couldn’t stop laughing about how enthusiastic he was about it) was truly an adorable moment. What a beautiful scene.
Best Chapter in the game! I couldn’t agree more!
And of course, there's the ending of chapter 5
I could never imagine that one of the best moments in the Xenoblade series would have been a non-action/fighting scene. This moved my soul so much, I felt like enriched inside. It's everything so human, and yet this kind on normality is so exeptional to them, who never had the opportunity to live it.
D'aaaaaaw, this is friggin' adorable!
I lost it when they raised their hands to learn where babies come from.

Thanks Monolith Soft.
This scene made me feel super emotional! It’s beautiful but also depressing. It’s beautiful the because heroes are seeing a baby for the first time & they looked surprised at first but started to feel happy in how cute she looked. But it’s also sad because these poor kids never grew up like the rest of the people in the City. They were nothing but pawns in the battlefield. I really feel for them.😭
Love how mio and noah look at each other so innocently
"Place...one finger."
So mum knows the test.
Baby aces the test.
And Mio uses her pinkie. Because she is a professional and Lady Of Culture of course.
The Maternity Ward scene felt so nice & wholesome!!!! Then hilarious when the doc asked to explain how babies are made!!!!!!!!!!
What would've made it even more hilariously better would be after Mio & Noah gained their past memories and they explain it to the group of what they saw & had lived their past lives as, the Ouroborus group would askingly hound Noah & Mio how babies are made since they had one!!!!!!!!!
I love how this games deals with such simple topics in such a fantastic way
4:05 This scene had me fucking floored with laughter.
I wonder how that couple must have felt when the doctor asked if a bunch of soldiers could come in and learn human anatomy with their newly born infant
I will admit this scene made my very emotional, just seeing these once trained to be nothing more than robot soldiers becoming fascinated by the miracle of childbirth, something that they never knew about, and having their natural parental instincts come in and watch over this baby...I love it.
Mio: "I want one"
Bruh lol
OOF
At here Noah and the party finally get to know how human's life are suppose to be like from being a newborn to old age, instead of just having 10 years life span and spending all of it in a war.
This revealation is just so heartwarming and heartbreaking for the party at the same time.
I remember watching this scene with the tears starting to brim in my eyes when they first see the baby, thinking "ok game, you nearly got me there"
Then the Baby grabbed Mio's finger and she lets out that gasp of amazment...and thats when the tears started flowing.
I just reached this scene, and it just made the game for me, and I thought the wholesome camping animations already did haha.
I looove the way this scene was delivered, such common and simple real life scenarios like seeing a baby, kids playing, couples kissing, old people passing by, were made to be seen sooo precious not only for the clueless Ouroboros gang, but for us players as well, to remind us of how really precious these simple moments are in real life.
One thing that fascinated me from Xenoblade 2, was reaching the Land of Morytha and Elysium. Yes they had a really futuristic sci-fi theme, but compared to the rest of the fantasy dreamlike world of Alrest, being in Morytha and Elysium felt so familiar. Seeing these buildings, streets, houses and even leftover toys, having a main cast from a fantasy setting experience all this mundane stuff was so fascinating to me.
Now Xenoblade 3 just pushed this concept to a whole other level. Watching the Ouroboros gang just experience these little simple moments we are all just so used to in real life was extremely wholesome, specially because of the way it was delivered.
I thought having characters who were always soldiers made to fight would make them hard to find relatable, but oh boi, now I see what the writers were going for when they chose this concept. I’m starting the find the main cast relatable, in a way that they remind me when I was a child, discovering everything about the human world. Truly beautiful and reminds me again of how video games are more than just games and are a modern form of art.

This scene is so good. I just wish it was taken further after. This was my fav cutscene from the entire game.
It's such a wholesome, but also depressing scene. You have these characters that spent their whole lives fighting and not knowing anything beyond that, and thinking that having only 10 years to live is normal.
Yeah, my read of this was that it was sad as well. Any scene where they come to understand how fucked up the lives they knew with flame clocks, 10 year lifespans, and being born in pods are kind of sad.
This scene made me tear up. Truly beautiful
I haven't watched this scene since the game came out and I did my first playthrough, and watching now had me crying again from just how god damn adorable it is. This game is a pure masterpiece of storytelling, better than most movies I watched in the recent years
I think while it is a good game the story was incredibly underwhelming and cliche up until this point. It made the turnaround with this scene but overall I consider it by far the weakest of the 3 main Xeno games.
@Nhat Anh Hoang Nope :)
(1=2)>>>>>>>>>3
@Nhat Anh Hoang Thanks for your summary and your personal opinion I still had a pretty good picture though what Xenoblade was about. I still consider XBC3 vastly inferior. To me it is mostly a pretty generic conglomerate of sci fi tropes and without any interesting narrative developments up until mid chapter 5.
I also consider the overarching concept as a conclusion of threads which began in 1 and 2 as failed. The connections seem artificial and vague and even the payoff at the end of 2 in terms of addressing 1 was better executed and felt more natural.
3 had it scenes but as I said for the most parts it had nothing to hook me from a storytelling perspective.
I am afraid we have to agree to disagree in that matter.

Interesting thing I noticed was that before becoming ouroboros the keves trio had no issues using the same bath despite eunie being a girl. But soon later after being ouroboros when the 6 were changing into their main outfits, the guys felt weird changing their clothes in front of the girls.
Add to Noah's "fixation" on Mio bare shoulders with the others Dialog even getting harder to understand. "Noah aquired 'unknown Funny feelings'!"
To be more specific, they were feeling shy at the other nation's opposite sex, eunie might aswell have been Noah and lanz' sister

Damn, so this is how it is done. But I wonder how they create the babies?
Jeje.
Es una Belleza Xenoblade.
There are many mixed feelings about this scene. For me one of the best in the game.
It's sad but beautiful at the same time.
Sad because unfortunately the 6 were born to be no more than living weapons of third parties, and serve without question. That makes you feel bad for them, everything they didn't live, and what they lived instead.
And suddenly to come across something like this is shocking.
And beautiful because I think this scene reminds us how much we should love our loved ones. Both when they are there, and also when they are gone. No one deserves to be alone, never having had someone to build beautiful memories with, must be the most horrible thing in this world that could happen to someone.
Going back to the scene, Taion is one of the most structured and serious characters of the group, but he was really shocked to see a baby for the first time. And he doesn't know or have any idea of what will be waiting for him the day he becomes a father.
And when the doctor asked them if they wanted to know how babies are made, and they all raised their hands, I laughed so hard. They were in for a real surprise.
Not to mention the kiss that Noah and Mio saw. Hehe.
It's a beauty Xenoblade.
