    INSTALL ADVICE:
Mark the placement of your steering rack on your frame with a paint marker BEFORE you remove the stock steering rack bolts. Once you place in the new bushings and are ready to reinstall the rack, line up the paint marks on the rack and the cassis before you torque everything down. If you don't do this, you have a high chance of messing with the clock position of your steering rack and you'll need more than just an alignment. A $30 part has cost me more than $200 lol
Also mini review: These are excellent. Zero NHV, only heavier, tighter steering. It feels like it came like this stock. Even if you're not interested in them for driver feedback, I'd get them for the reason that they'll outlast your old rubber bushings ten times over.

But the steering rack is attatched to the frame so you can't really go wrong positionwise?

I bought this kit for my WRX made a nice improvement in steering response.

If you still look here, what is your opinion on the difference between this kit and the perrin steering rack lockdown kit? My intuition says this kit would be better because it includes a tool to remove the oem bushing. Removing bushings is why inserts that fill space in oem bushings are so nice: much easier install

The Perrin kit essentially bypasses the factory bushings and creates a solid mount, where as these will replace the factory bushings with harder polyurethane bushings. The Perrin kit will give a bit more "feel" but it comes with added noise harshness and vibration, where as these will still feel amazing but with less NHV compared to the Perrin kit. Hope this helps!
      Thanks,
      Rick

Hello Rally sport direct, the previous user(berenger christy) asked a great question becuause I was thinking about getting the Perrin steering rack lockdown kit but definitely don't want the added NHV . I want to order this whiteline steering rack bushings on my toyota86 - what was the most difficult part about this installation? I heard the whiteline subframe bushing inserts can be super tricky . How 's the installation processed compared to the whiteline subframe bushing inserts. Thank you and hope you reply.

Just wondering what the tool was you used to remove the old bushing? Looked very useful..

If I remember correctly it was the tool that comes with this kit. www.rallysportdirect.com/part/bushings/whi-ksr207-whiteline-steering-rack-bushings
Although you could probably make the same kit for very little money.
      Thanks,

    does this require alignment after?

    • @rallysportdirect
      @rallysportdirect  Před 4 lety

It's should not be required, but if you notice your steering wheel is off center once you put these on, a quick alignment will fix that :)
      Thanks,
      Rick

Late to the party, but if you install them without planning it out then yes it absolutely does. They don't mention in this video or in the instructions that you have to mark your steering rack placement on the frame BEFORE you remove the stock bolts or you'll clock the steering rack incorrectly and need more than just an alignment to fix it. A $30 part cost me $200 lol
