    I have this keyboard. Have had it for over two-three years. It’s treated me good over the years, and like everything demonstrated here, works just great. But now I’m looking to upgrade, to a keyboard that has full 88 keys, fully weighted keys, with all the same features. Any ideas?

    That's cool for a 61 key organ manual style keyboard, but what Yamaha needs to offer on all sizes of keyboards equipped with a pitch bend wheel is also a modulation wheel next to it! Why one and not the other, or preferably both? I have seen the DGX and YPG series offer this same thing, and wondered why it is the case? Basically, the PSR and PSR-E series are the same as the YPT series, differing in the type of stores they are sold in, and with older technology Yamaha (as well as other leading makes) having both wheels available in most sizes from 25 keys up to the full 88 ( but another thing, avoid keyboards that only state that they are only a MIDI controller, because you'll need a computer with compatible music software installed to produce any musical sounds with these)!

    Great keyboard, but some of the string-instruments have very disappointing samples, most notably the pizzicato string, the regular strings samples are hardly impressive either (2:44) compared to what I generally work with.
    The grand piano (and most of the other instruments) however sounds glorious, absolutely a lot of fun to play around with, and the extra filter/effect knobs help giving you the sound you want.
    No regrets buying it at all though, absolutely worth the money, fun stuff :)

  • @TheDurnans
    @TheDurnans Před 6 lety

    I've owned this keyboard for several years. It has more bells and whistles than I know how to use, and more than any manual could explain clearly. There are times that I'll accidentally hit a button and it'll take off and do some crazy stuff on it's own. The sound is okay. It's definitely not loud. Even with an external amp, I couldn't get much volume out of this keyboard. Certainly not a good choice for public performance. It's as if I need to take a single semester class on operating this keyboard. It's simple enough to get it to play like a piano, but the other things it can do are not explained all that well.

      Then you should reset it. Here is the steps:
      1. Turn the keyboard Off
      2. While the keyboard is Off, please hold the highest tone (the last right tuts)
      3. Turn the keyboard On while you still holding the highest tone. Then you release it after 3 seconds.
      That's it. It should be working on any yamaha keyboard version.

    • @jorgegarza4782
      @jorgegarza4782 Před 10 lety

      I'm no piano expert but that is Speed Sensitive Keys, not Weighted, weighted or semiweighted keys refers to the physical feel or tension on your fingers when pressing the keys, emulating the keys of a real acoustic piano.
      I don't know if this Keyboard is weighted but I don't think it is.
