    So a couple of things: food at casco viejo is overpriece, the place is a tourist trap, so prices are normally over the top, for food try to eat out in the city or on local places like small restaurants or fondas, go eat where you se locals eating. About the taxi, they overcharged you, depending of the amount of people that are with you from casco to the tornillo, it shouldnt be over 4 or 5 $, for any visitor is recommened to use uber when they come to Panama, taxi drivers usually overcharged turist, and believe me is easy to spot a foreigner here, the clasical short sleve, short pant, and dark glasses combo usually sells you away......In general just try to go to the places you see the locals going to......

    I was told by an expat in Panama City that the meat in Panama isn't very tasty. He said it had something to d with the soil and grass that animals ate and suggested sticking to seafood. I mostly followed his advice. I tried a burger and it was awful. Every other meal was seafood. Great video.

High quality is a bonus, but capturing the built spaces, like you did, in one frame without much turbulence, is cool. thanks . Calm video quality.

    I was also not impressed with much of the touristy restaurants there in Casco Viejo. I stayed in a little more gritty (but not dangerous) area and ate where the locals eat. Cheap and delicious! Like you, the tower disappointed me as I was sure my guide had said I could go up. The lobby was gorgeous.

    Hi Israel my very cute friend. Guess what? I'm in Panama City right now! I think the comparison to Dubai is based on the climate. It's HOT!! And I'm staying in an Airbnb on the 4th floor with no elevator.
    One thing I was told before I arrived was that Casco Viejo is beautiful to visit but don't eat there because all the restaurants in that part of the city are overpriced. They charge Gringo prices. If you want to pay Panamanian prices you have to go to other parts of the city.
    I'm enjoying it. I visited the Canal today and I actually got to see ships crossing. A lot of tourists end up disappointed because the ships only cross during certain hours. If you go at the wrong time of day you won't see any.
    I plan to go to Mercado de Mariscos tomorrow. It looks like the food there is great.
    Thanks so much for the video. I've been waiting for it!

      @pf8860 Cartagena hands down 😍 that’s one of my top 10 cities in the world. I’ve been there 3 times and I still want to go back 😜 Panama City on the other hand can be a little boring compared to Cartagena or Cuba.

  • @allyons5970
    @allyons5970 Před 28 dny

    Most pricey restaurant's food will seem unimpressive just because of the price itself. You will expect the taste to be out of this world, but if it just tastes like regular food you may have anywhere else for lower prices, which will happen in most of the expensive restaurants, you won't value much of anything you have.
    Or maybe food from cheap restaurants does objectively taste better...it may have to do with adding more salt, oil, sugar, and maybe more liberal or regular use of known condiments that won't fail to make the food taste how most people like.
