  • Most Aesthetic Clinicians offer Botox 'follow up' or 'review' appointments. But, should we be doing them as a matter of course; what causes them in the first place; and how should we tackle the dreaded 'Spock brow' or - every injector's worst nightmare - an underwhelmed patient?!
    In this week's Aesthetics Mastery Show, Dr Tim dives into Botox tweaks.
    Let us know in the comments if this helped.

    Nurse Injector here. For my new patients doing the treatment first time, I require them to come back to assess if refinements are needed or not. This is important for documentation. We take photos or videos before and after. For established patients, follow up only as needed. They come every 3 months to see me

    Some like spock effect, some don’t like it so it is better to advice the patient in the first place, if they want brow elevation just inject medially, if they dont want then inject laterally

    I'm newer to the botox joutney... and I have some asymmetry but I naturally have a brow muscle that lifts stronger than the other side... if that makes sense.

    I have the tip of the eyebrow that rises high but the beginning of the eyebrow near the glabella is a little low, I look a little angry, if I understand correctly, to raise them, you have to inject more on the 'glabella' than on the 'corrugator' which makes the eyebrow frown?

    • @DrTimPearce
      @DrTimPearce  Před 2 lety +1

      On average around 20 allergen units for glabella complex, orbicularis oculi 12 each side should suffice and frontalis varies greatly from patient to patient but I favour smaller 1 unit doses at each injection point.

I don't know wha to tell him anymore!🤷🏻‍♀️

    When you do follow up, do you buy new botox and pay again for prescription? Or you keep in the fridge the botox that they used first time

    whats that if my patient got the very spock brow by botox, how to fix it, is that need to inject some dose on the triangle lifting area ?

    • @DrTimPearce
      @DrTimPearce  Před rokem

      Yes exactly. But better to wait for the review. Usually a small dose in the upper third of the triangle should be enough to calm the brow.
      Kind regards Mary. Clinical advisor for Dr Tim

    New injector here. How do you charge for follow up Botox injections? Same rate? included? reduced rate/unit?

    I am so torn about all of this. On one hand, I want Botox and to slow down the aesthetics of aging even though it disturbs me that I would inject a poison into my face to acheive it. On the other hand, I don't want aging to be something we all see as ugly and I wish I (and everyone else) could all rise to a higher level. I'm so conflicted.

    • @luname82
      @luname82 Před 2 lety +2

      You don't have to do botox to slow aging down. That is just one way. you can also do lasers, profound RF, micro needling, facials, and see a dermatologist to get a solid night time and day time routine. Besides natural aging, most wrinkles and premature aging come from sun damage. so DO NOT SKIP THE SUNSCREEN. Find one you like enough to reapply through out the day. As a matter of fact if you don't use sunscreen, all these other creams and procedures are just being undercut because of sun damage. But good skin scare, minimally invasive procedure AND sunscreen will really slow down aging. (besides a healthy lifestyle of course).
