- If you find that you are waking up with headaches, you may be grinding your teeth at night. It is well-documented in the literature that Botox in the masseter muscle can relieve the tension headaches resulting from overactive facial muscles. In this video, Holly Gruwell FNP demonstrates how this treatment is performed. Another side benefit is that this treatment also rounds and softens the look of the lower jawline!
Where are the before and after photos sorry?
Warning!
I too suffer from sleep apnea and been given botox injections in my massetters twice 3 months apart!
The problem with botox is if you clench because of sleep arousals from sleep apnea botox in massetters might risk contributing to your jaw sliding back as you sleep and when that happens your tongue falls back as well obstructing the airway
So botox could cause more sleep apnea and thus increase the frequency of clenching
This is exactly what happened to me unfortunately
Bottomline is if you clench and you have sleep apnea treat sleep apnea first before considering botox!
Thank you
Are there studies behind this or is it anecdotal?
Hi.I had bruxism 6 years ago and I suffered severe pain in the joint in front of my left ear. if I do botox injection get rid of that pressure like a joint noise?please
I got 16 units in each side and it was such a waste . It didn't even relax me At all! Is it supposed to completely paralyze that muscle ? Or obviously we use it to eat and chew so we can't completely freeze it up?
Wheres the before and after
What size needle and can you just inject 2 units in one spot
How safe is this
Babymamaz very . With proper land marking risks are very low . The good thing about Botox is it wears off .
does botox really wear off?
@@Angelica-vu3nk yes it does. Usually after 3-6 months. The more you do it, the longer it will last
Hey! I did this 3 weeks ago on only one side of my face and my smile got actually affected, in addition I feel that half of my lips are numbed and freezed out! Is that normal as part of the procedure?? Well I consulted my doctor he said it needs time .. but it's been 3 weeks I'm really worried
Hi love! I got it done for my jaw problems on my left side only, it does affect your smile however it is temporary. it goes away in 3 or 4 months completely then your face will be back to feeling and looking normal. The injections are basically a relaxer to the muscle and freeze it from functioning too hard , which explains why the smile cant smile as much and why it feels numb. Don't be worried, its temporary!
Not that I need this, but out of curiosity does the injection feel like a flu shot but only in the jaw area?
kinkisharyocoasters A little bit. You can have some very minor bruising.
She looks like she is from winterfell!!
"as simple as that" yeah so why are doctors charging a whole bunch of money for that xD
my dr. Said it is not covered by insurance . Totally my cost of $500.00
Botox costs the doctor $600 for a 100 unit vial. And it has a short shelf life. In order to make a profit and pay your overhead you need to charge 2 to 3 times that.
@@DrJoe61 does Botox come with 2 strengths ? 100 and 200 plz ?
@@jelljell7871 No. It goes by units. They sell 50 unit vials and 100. You are supposed to mix a specific amount of saline where every .1cc is 4 units. Some unethical doctors will add more saline, making it more diluted/weaker but they will charge you the same amount.
@@DrJoe61 thanks Joe
they charge that much because it cost 500 dollars a bottle.......
Peter Delmonte isn’t covered by insurance ?
take it up with allergen!
50 units of BOCOUTURE cost 100€.
