Once, after darshan, i was at the entrance gate. Many people were there and, among them, a couple from USA. I heard the husband say: "He smokes, he can't be realized."
So, some who may want to judge it unknowingly, kindly do not comment.

Why. Swamiji smoking? What reason
I'm sorry not able to find the actual quote but Yogiji himself said that he had to smoke in order to handle the gross vibrations of people around him. In general it is not a good practice to judge Siddhas by our standards since they do not have the usual body consciousness that we have. They have taken great efforts to kill the "I ego" in them and lead their lives lead by God's will

kindly enlighten this feeble mind why did he smoke cigarettes? (since you claimed that we are the unknowns, you are obliged to and i kindly request you to give a clarity to us)
No one can say he is not realised I accept that point but
isn't it that cigarette is a worldly product? and enlightened beings are the ones who is beyond and liberalised from worldly affairs?
Also people are only worshipping him or similar enlightened beings only because that he is enlightened(not a normal being), that we can get some sort of blessings or some sort of relief from this suffering world,right? the love is not unconditional, it is a conditional love unconsciously . if you say it is unconditional, then you should pour the same amount of love that you are having on your guru to the ants, plants, every single human being on this planet.
if he is a normal person working day and night in the fields, farming lets have for 40 years
so that we can eat good food you won't show the same amount of love to him right? if the person chooses to meditate instead of farming he/she would also become a enlightened being but we wont have enough food.
because you are conditioned to worship them and not the ones who really suffers for our well being

You are right Guru Does not sit above us..He becomes us ..Dwandadeetham ( no two entities - means above all duality) .
Lot of things are above our comprehension .one thing I can say is that if your desire for becoming spritual is Honest one then you will be guided from with in. You will be told to chant vs read teachings vs Hatha yoga practice vs contemplate. But your intention has to be strong and honest to your self. No need to prove anyone but you. All the best ! Trying to answer as best as I can, open to discuss if people have non-judgemental questions
* Why is he smoking - he himself said he needs to do that to give relief from the gross vibrations of people around him. For comparison Shri Ramakrishna used to ask for water etc in order to bring himself down from Samadhi. Also do note that Shri Ramakrishna used to scold immoral people if they touched him as their touch used to sting and burn him. In comparison Yogiji had to work amongst people and hence needed smoking as a medium to keep his mind at a level where it's useful to people. This is the metaphysical explanation. But in a strictly real world sense - he doesn't mind smoking, the audience there doesn't mind his smoking, public smoking was not banned then. So what's the rule being broken here?
* Cigarettes are a worldly product - Our bodies are the no. 1 worldy product, once you leave it the world takes it back. People like Yogi Ramsuratkumar have transcended the body. Would you silently bear people abusing and beating your for more than a decade without protest just to do what you love? Yogiji has demonstrated that in his life and this forbearance cannot come for people who are too conscious of their bodies, even normally speaking
* You are your own Guru, Guru should not be on a pedestal etc - Advaita should not be applied in a worldly sense. If you see "Guru" and "me" there is immediately a division, how can we talk about equality within Maya? Not possible
* If farmer meditated, he would be enlightened - nope. Sorry to say but enlightenment cannot be obtained even by thousands of years of meditation. It's not cause and effect. If you want a normal explanation refer Papaji, Bhagavan Ramana. If you like a "in your face" explanation please refer UG Krishnamurti
* If farmer doesn't work there is no food - true. But if there is no Sun, there is no food either. Some people are workers, some are enablers. The Siddhas are enablers of thousands of people. Just go to Yogiji's Ashram and see how many people get food, how many ailing get free medical treatment and how many children get education!
In case you are wondering of course I love Yogiji, but don't take us admirers to be blind superstitious people. It takes a certain maturity to understand him, and that happens by his grace, quite a paradox!
