    Desi came out and SPOKE to the atudio audience after Lucy was accused of being a Commuinist. "The only thing red about her is her hair, and even that is not real". Yes, a STUDIO AUDIENCE

    The show was very popular and a ratings hit from the very beginning and was profitable when it aired.

    Wow! I guess Viral Nater believes people who don't work in film or television are idiots with no understanding of how a show is produced, rehearsed, and recorded, ignoring the fact that there are numerous documentaries regarding the "I Love Lucy" show, that contradict just about every point this video is making.

  • @3dartistguy
    @3dartistguy Před rokem +23

    How do explain the fact that Desi Arnaz went out before a live audience and introduced the cast to the audience before every show if they didnt film before a live audience? In just about every documentary that has been made about the series, this has been filmed. Viral Nater knows not what its talking about making statements about the series that are not at all accurate.

      @@thomashilton8198 I know, I wasn't clear. I should have said that it all wasn't canned laughter . Desi was a smart cookie to keep the tapes.

      @@angelacritters They weren't "tapes." They were 35mm film. But they sold them to CBS to buy RKO in 1957. That is why Viacom owns them.

    Lucy gets all the credit, but Desi was the brains of the outfit. Desi was the Executive Producer. He chose the cast and took a big chance on the alcoholic William Frawley. He invented the 3 camera technique still used on sitcoms today. He insisted on it being filmed before a live audience-a first-whilst the others used a laugh track. He also insisted on film, rather than the kinescope’s that were used back then. Film was more expensive, but Desi knew it would look better and last much longer. He also insisted that DesiLu, the studio he created, would retain ownership of the show. This led to him being able to ‘invent’ what became known as syndication, which is how producers get rich. Desi was much more than appearances.

      I'm 76 & saw the show from its beginning in '51! Did you know that they didn't have 'reruns'? It
      was always replaced with a summer replacement show, lasting 13 weeks! So, if you missed
      one of the shows, you missed it!

    So many of the things said here are incorrect. I've seen others of this ilk. Don't believe half or 2/3 of any information you get from this video. Until colorization came about, Lucy never saw a color episode. And the t h e producer of I Love Lucy was Desi Arnaz. These things are horrible.

  • @beaukat3

      Superman, I believe after the first season, was filmed in color which was very unusual and expensive for the times. I Love Lucy was NOT filmed in color. This channel is well known for just flat out making things up. Not a matter of fact checking, they are just completely full of shit.

    This is jam-packed with false info…I LOVE LUCY was definitely filmed before a LIVE AUDIENCE. Lucy and Desi did not ALWAYS have a “tumultuous” relationship…they loved each other, and Desi even sent Lucy roses on their Anniversary EVERY year after their divorce.

    The show was in fact filmed in front of a live audience, IN A STUDIO. Where did you get this information from, and why would you try to slander the names and work of such icons?????

    Some wrong info in this video. For several years they did shoot in front of a live audience. Those recordings of the audience were also used in several other shows including The Andy Griffith Show. ILL was the first 3 camera setup. Desi’s idea. Also, Lucy hates any improvisation. She was a stickler for perfection.
