You know the part where Stefan says to reboot? Yeah. Do it. I thought my situation would get me around that. So, I got to go looking at all kinds of terrible stuff to figure out what was going wrong. After not too much frustration, I thought... well, maybe I should do what he said. That helped. The nice thing is that I didn't hurt myself too badly by ignoring his instructions.

Hi Stefan, I am a total noob in Linux, and had chosen the great Kali distro to get started with Linux altogether. It might sound disastrous, but am getting with it very well by now. Just messing around with some tools and playing around with the file systems and using the bash as long as possible to get some familiarity to the tradition.
However, I am using Kali 2022.2 via wsl2. The thing I am interested to know about is whether the using the distro via wsl2 restricts any features or functionality compared to the bare-metal installation?
I have gone through the internet and could find no information on this. Sometimes, I could find the results answering my question, but are outdated by 1 or 2 years. Came to know that wsl2 is been on process of continuous development, and I am pretty much sure that the trend has changed by now. Could see those things like docker and a couple of more tools that were listed not working in git and many other blogspots and stuffs before some 1-2 years. All are outdated and I dont really find any such queries being raised anymore.
It would be helpful if you could educate me on the limitations (if any) of using kali on wsl2. I am just getting stared now, but I want to know whether kali on wsl2 can be used for everything that we can do with the VMs and the bare metal installs. I don’t feel satisfied on working on something with limited features, though I am not using it at the current moment. May be this behaviour of mine appears weird. Lol. I am very much aware that the image comes *bare bones with limited pre-installed tools, and the required tools can be installed manually by us in the future. But the usability, functionality and question of any limitations remains unanswered.
That being said, please guide me on the same.

Hi! When I run the command "sudo apt update" or "sudo apt-get update" I get the error: "Some index files failed to download. They have been ignored, or old ones used instead." I looked around online but couldn't find any viable solution, could you please help me out? I'm unable to install any packages or do any updates/upgrades at the moment :(
Did you try that reboot that he said to do? I mention it above after I had troubles.
@@Jim-dx3ys I used Microsoft Store to download Kali and it worked without issues
