I don't remember exactly when it happened, but at some point in my 20s I realized that Paul had completely hijacked the Jesus narrative and twisted it into his own religion. I realized he was an opportunist extraordinaire. What we think of as Christianity today is in reality Paulism. Sad truth.

what does this even mean? Paul taught what Jesus taught, the apostles met paul and luke was travelling with Paul. Paul went to the kuffar and told them to stop sinning, You make it sound like Paul made himself a king, like mohammed. Paul had no wealth, nor had he slaves or a palace, he was travelling between the churches of the menorah, and in the end he wrote he had to go to rome to die there, thats what happened. He went to the cesar of rome and he was killed by them. You guys dont believe what the bible says but pretend the bible is backing u up. Paul became a slave of Jesus.

Paul taught people to believe in the crucifixion/reseruction of Jesus peace be upon him to gain salvation. Jesus (pbuh) taught people to adhere to laws revealed to Moses (pbuh), Paul abolished the laws. All of this is in the bible. “Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city. Outside are the dogs, those who practice magic arts, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.

Again his Jewish opponents picked up stones to stone him, but Jesus said to them, “I have shown you many good works from the Father. For which of these do you stone me?”
“We are not stoning you for any good work,” they replied, “but for blasphemy, because you, a mere man, claim to be God.”
Jesus answered them, “Is it not written in your Law, ‘I have said you are “gods”? If he called them ‘gods,’ to whom the word of God came-and Scripture cannot be set aside- what about the one whom the Father set apart as his very own and sent into the world? But if I do them, even though you do not believe me, believe the works, that you may know and understand that the Father is in me, and I in the Father.”
Philip said, “Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us.”

@@Jesus_was_God This doesn't have anything to do with Islam, let's not compare religions. My problem with many people in the chat is that they believe just because Paul gave the message, the message is his. It is not, many believe The Law and The Prophets are divinely inspired writings. My question is why doesn't this same treatment apply to Paul? We do not say Isaiah and Jeremiah or Ezekiel are writing out of their own thoughts, but The Word of God. Paul's background is rather irrelevant as well. Paul being knowledgeable about Greco-Roman culture and affairs is good and beneficial as it allows him to relate more to Greek and Roman audiences, but they speak as if Paul's adaptive preaching nature is not favorable. I object, Paul only used Greek philosophers' quotes because it is what his audience, often being Greek are familiar with and when he preached to Jews as in Hebrews, he spoke to them about Christ to a Hebrew perspective

Did the Torah, Psalms or Gospels prophesy such an Arab prophet from Arabia? What was the religion of the self proclaimed prophet religion at the time of his birth? If God wanted to send a prophet, He would have chosen from the People of the Book and not a person born in a family practicing polytheism. Also as per the scripture believed to be recieved by the self proclaimed prophet, God doesn't know that Christians don't worship Mary, Mother of Jesus as God and mistakes Jesus mother as Moses sister. The following verse is from another holy book sent by God to Prophet Musa or Prophet Moses.
“Yes, this is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says: ‘Do not let the prophets and diviners among you deceive you. Do not listen to the dreams you encourage them to have. They are prophesying lies to you in my name. I have not sent them,’ declares the Lord” (Jeremiah 29:8-9).

Wahb b. Munabbih (d. ~725 CE) is an early authority in ḥadīth who is known for his transmission of Isrā’īlīyāt. In the Tafsīr of al-Baghawī (d. 1122), in the exegesis of Surat Yāsīn, a tradition from Wahb b. Munabbih states that Paul was one of the messengers sent to a community of disbelievers: “’We sent two to them’ (36:14). Wahb said: John and Paul … ‘so We strengthened them with a third’ (36:14) the third messenger was Simon [Peter].” Al-Baghawī identifies these “apostles” as messengers sent by Jesus to the city of Antioch. After the first to were sent, calling the city and its king to abandon their idols, they were imprisoned and flogged. So, Jesus sent Peter to assist them, whereupon he cured a child of his blindness in the company of the king.
*No wonder the first Christ-followers were called "People of The Way". Jesus Himself said, "I am The WAY, The Truth and The Life. No one can come to the Father except through Me."*

We weren’t there to learn about Paul, so it’s a notion I’ve held without the will or need to investigate, even though I know he is highly revered amongst ‘Christians’.so this is interesting. Jesus said the following
I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.
“Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city. Outside are the dogs, those who practice magic arts, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.
I and the Father are one.”
Why then do you accuse me of blasphemy because I said, ‘I am God’s Son’? Do not believe me unless I do the works of my Father. But if I do them, even though you do not believe me, believe the works, that you may know and understand that the Father is in me, and I in the Father.”
Philip said, “Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us.”
Jesus answered: “Don’t you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? 10 Don’t you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me? The words I say to you I do not speak on my own authority. Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his work.

Jesus is predicted in Isaiah 53: 5-9; 9: 6-7; 42 and 7: 14; Genesis 1: 26, 3: 15. Genesis 22 speaks about the sacrifice of Abraham's son Isaac sheds light on the future event of God the Father sacrificing Jesus.
The Holy Trinity is as follows:
      Father is the Mind of God;
      Jesus is the Thought of God;
Holy Spirit is the Consciousness (understanding the thought) and Action of God
Jesus prays to Father because Mind is the source of Thought. There is no Mind without a Thought and there is always a Consciousness (understanding the thought) that leads to action.
As per scripture, Jesus is Word of God and Thoughts are represented by Words.

Yes, my dear brothers, my beloved Palestine is the cradle of Christianity and Judaism, and it contains Al-Aqsa, the third holiest place for us Muslims in Palestine. Bethlehem, the cradle of Christ, is a blessed land, and it is the holy land, and it has been our land for tens of thousands of years, and it is the land of the Canaanite Arabs, the original Palestinian people, and they have lived in it since the Islamic conquest in the era. The Umayyad, Abbasid and Ottoman Arabs, Muslims, Christians and Jews are like brothers and neighbors under Palestinian rule to the owners of the land, but the Zionists came and the British occupation brought them to our land as compensation to the Jews for what they did to them Hitler. The question here is that who did the Holocaust, the Germans, why do I, the Palestinian Arab, pay the price? Why not Germany? Why do I, the Muslim, pay the price for crimes? Committed by the Germans and Nazi Europe, fascism is the root of all evil in the world. Our problem is the occupation

You see the land of the Jews to be your own land which it is not.
You find nothing wrong when the Ottoman Empire continuously attacked Christian nations well after the Crusades-- muslims took these lands for the booty they contained, for the people they enslaved, for the new inventions the people created which islam wanted to call their own. And then when the Ottoman Empire fell apart, you saw no need to give the conquered lands back to the original Christian nations' peoples, but you kept them for yourselves.
      But now you want Israel.
I say to you, Long live Israel, the land GOD gave to His Chosen people!
May the Jews smash the mosque, defile the koran, and completely destroy the gold-domed building, melting its gold dome down to be remade as candleholders for the new Jewish Temple! And may the people in Israel worship HaShem in the Temple forever!

So at that point in time what was going on in Egypt and what stories or religion do we have from Egypt??? We get the story of Horus (crucified between two thieves). Paul's letters and influence were before the completion of any "gospels" we have. So it seems obvious he went to Egypt and prob studied Hellenistic derived Kemetic mysticism (remember Alex the Great has already been through here) and basically used this to influence people. Here is my view on Paul and indeed the Gospels, I am in my early 70s, London born and bred in a cultural Anglican home.
Dad never went to church, and Mum was hostile to it due to her Catholic background of strict nuns with zero compassion who used to like hitting children.
I always had an innate sense of the divine and still do.
I went to Sunday school, was and spent 10 years in a church school from age 7 to 17.
I got involved in evangelical churches believing the church doctrine, including that when you become a Christian, you receive the Holy Spirit..
I always found the teaching of Jesus totally at odds with Paul's, yet I probably thought the ecclesiastical experts had almost 2000 years of tradition and cultural beliefs and therefore must be right.
Part of me thought, well we are English, we know the truth, none of these other religions can be true.
I don't necessarily agree with Dr Ali Altie that the Gospels are based on Paul's writings as much of what Jesus taught seems opposite to Paul.
Paul is incredibly judgemental of people who aren't saved, and considering Paul talks about Grace, that is why I find him judgemental.
Jesus, according to Matthew, made it abundantly clear he didn't like the hypocrisy of the Pharisees. He also made it clear in the Sermon on the Mount that it pleases God.
He said that God requires mercy and not sacrifice. He spoke of practical issues like being a peacemaker and not judging because those who do will be judged.
He also said to be Holy as the father in heaven is Holy.
In essence, we should strike toward the goal. In Arabic, the word used is Jihad..
Jesud never said, look, wait until they crucify me, then simply believe that God took it on me and you can forget strving. If you are not prepared to strive, then it's a cop out, and bear in mind Jesus said God doesn't want a sacrifice.
In 2013, I decided that I would follow what Jesus said. I will follow the example.
This may not sit too well with some people, but this is my journey.
I honestly do not know what to make of the biblical Scriptures.
Renowned biblical Professor Bart Erhman is an agnostic who entered bible college as a fundamentalist but now isn't. He studies the scriptures out of historical and not faith. He also does believe that Christ was crucified and looks for historical clues.
The earliest Christian writings are Paul's, they predate the Gospels, did Paul meet Jesus? Well, just because Paul said so doesn't mean it's true.
The Gospels were not written by contemporaries of Christ. They were anonymously written in Greek, whilst Jesus and his mates spoke Aramaic.
Much of Matthew is copied from Luke according to Erhman and others, so even quoting Matt 5, I have no idea if it happened or if writers have embellished the truth for their own ends .
Interesting a verse in Philippians supposedly pen by Paul is Phillipians 2v12
work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure
This is exactly what I believe. It is probably a generic statement beyond a specific faith even to the point of being one of the pillars of faith in Islam about doing good deeds and charity.
    Say God, who is ONE
    God the eternal refuge
God was neither born nor gives birth
God has no equivalent, no superiors.

Outstanding!!!! However, may I split hairs? There was no such thing as "Jew" during that period in history. Saul/Paul was an Edomite by birth. Idumea was the stronghold of the Edomites or Dominion of Edom (as well as the dominion of the Pharisees - Pharisaism was the political or religious movement of the Edomites; ultimately Pharisaism became known as Talmudism, then Judaism). The term "Edom" was contracted and almost slang-ized over hundreds of years to Hooeys or Iueys and other variations. By the 21st Century, the word had become "Jew". The word popped up in the Schofield for the 1st time. "Jew" was never a contraction for Judah (a family line) or Judea (a physical place). Jesus was both a Judahite and a Judean, but never a Jew. Jesus was not an Edomite but an Israelite. In a nutshell, Saul/Paul, the Pharisee of the Pharisees, an Edomite, essentially neutralized ALL of God's Laws (remember, Jesus said he did not come to change one whit of His Father's Laws, but to refresh them) and all of Jesus' teachings. Saul/Paul - MOST IMPORTANTLY - refocused Christianity on an unquantifiable "faith" versus the faithfulness that God demanded and Jesus reinforced.

Excellent podcast! I think Paul preached whatever he thought to be correct, however what he preached was NOT the correct Israelite monotheism. His thinking was a product of Hellenic Judaism, which was there even before Jesus was born. Philo of Alexandria was also preaching Hellenic Judaism. The 18 Apocrypha books of OT have ample Greek influences, those were written down before Christ. That Greek thought influenced the Gospels and Paul's thinking. He most certainly hated James, and was only interested in preaching his mind, and not the actual teachings of Jesus.

Just a comment about the disciples of Jesus pbuh. So in Christianity the disciples all left Jesus pbuh at his most crucial moment and some even denied him. The Qur'an is clear when it says that the disciples were loyal and true believers of God and followers of Jesus pbuh. So the Qur'an actually redeems the disciples just as it redeems and clears the horrible things the bible says about the previous prophets like Nuh pbuh, Lut pbuh and the rest.

    • @georgiacap9294
      @georgiacap9294 Před 20 dny +1

Yes, the disciples did fear for their own lives after Jesus was arrested by the Temple guards. John and Peter did follow Jesus after He was arrested and Peter did deny knowing Jesus 3 times, which Jesus had prophesied earlier. John, the youngest and beloved disciple of Jesus followed Jesus to the cross. Peter watched from afar. The Virgin Mary, Mary Magdalene, Mary the wife of Clopas and John stood at the cross. After Jesus rose from the tomb and appeared to His disciples they were ecstatic and couldn’t believe their eyes. Those same disciples went to spread the Gospel of Jesus boldly to ALL NATIONS, as commanded by Jesus Himself. They were martyred, not for a belief but for what they ‘experienced’ a risen Christ.
The Quran which was written 600 years later has distorted the truth as there were no eyewitnesses to Jesus life, therefore it is unreliable.
As for the previous prophets, the Bible does not sugarcoat the killing, adultery etc committed by them.

I struggled understanding Paul, then it hit me , did our Father make my ancestors eat their own children? Jesus said NO ONE had seen or heard the Father, so how is Yahweh who is translated LORD the majority of the time the Father?
Yahweh tells Moses to go up the mountain and die. Then goes up and kills Moses, Micheal is then disputing Satan about the body of Moses. So who is Michael speaking to?
Yahweh, or your LORD killed 2 million of my ancestors in the desert taking 40 years for a 3 week trip. Jesus said if you ask your Father for bread He will not give you a snake. The asked Yahweh who sent snakes to kill them.
Jesus said all who came before Him are thieves and robbers. That includes Yahweh. Jesus paid a ransom for us, did he pay Himself or the Father? Nope, you pay a criminal a ransom, Yahweh. Paul said an angel gave the law, who gave the law? Yahweh.
Who is the Dragon in Revelation? Yahweh
    Revelation 13: Leopard, Bear, Lion
Daniel 7: Lion, Bear, Leopard, Terrifying beast
    Hosea 13:7-8 Leopard, Lion, bear
    Who is satan? Yahweh
    2 Sam 24
    1 Chron 21
Jeremiah said the scribes and prophets told lies, Paul said a veil is over those reading the Old Testament, Jesus said beware of the scribes. If you don’t rightly divide the scriptures you get deceived and a strong delusion. This is why people have issues understanding Revelation.
The Church is the Whore riding the Dragon Yahweh.
The Son it Man planted the Wheat, behind Him came Yahweh sowing Tares. Jesus called the Pharisees sons of Satan, who was their father? Yahweh.
Yahweh was given an inheritance by the Most High, he isn’t the Most High..
    Deuteronomy 32
When the Most High gave the nations their inheritance, when he divided all mankind,
he set up boundaries for the peoples according to the number of the sons of Israel
For the Yahwehs portion is his people,Jacob his allotted inheritance.
Yahweh is coming back to burn the tares he is binding through trickery to make you blaspheme the Spirit of God.
    Isaiah 13:5
They come from a far country, from the end of heaven, even the Lord, and the weapons of his indignation, to destroy the whole land.
LORD/Yahweh links back to BAAL in Hosea.
The Father is light no darkness is found in Him. My ancestors got so confused they made the two powers of heaven doctrine but then called it Hersey when Jesus came.
You cannot apply evil to a benevolent Spirit. The Holy Spirit didn’t kill EVER, even in ACTs. Satan/Yahweh kills; Please don’t fall for this satanic trick. Blasphemy is unforgivable if it’s until death. Just repent and save yourself from possible harm and rightly divide.

Peter says to Yeshua that he is an unworthy sinner, indeed he betrayed Yeshua himself, perhaps you don't know The Gosepl.

@@nickmansfield1 I let God be the judge of that nick. I know the Gospel of Jesus, AND the gospel of Paul... and they both speak differently. No Nick, I choose Jesus Gospel, and He says... "My sheep here my voice". It is elementary that 99% of Christendom do not hear His voice, otherwise they would obey Him. Do you obey Jesus Nick? Or is it Paul you obey. Paul never teaches what Jesus taught because he never met Him or the disciples (Acts is a beat-up by Pauls sidekick Luke) If Paul said the earth was square, Luke would believe him. Jesus put James in charge and yet Paul tried to kill him. Says a lot just that. Once a traitor always a traitor. Jesus say to know them by their fruits....
Paul was a liar and admitted it saying if it glorify God its ok. Really? You think God wants lies to glorify Him? Even the Muslims say the same thing.
      Paul was a boaster
      Paul was jealous
Paul could not heal himself. Gee even I can do that.
Paul was a wimp and coward who wanted to be a Jew to save himself from the Romans, and then wants to be a Roman to save himself from the jews.
If Jesus sent Paul as he testifies, then there would have been forewarning. All we have is Pauls own testimony and the writings of his sidekick Luke. A great pair huh?
Follow you shallow thinking all the way Nick until you meet your maker. Then when He says to you... I dont know you, look for Paul to save you. Good luck.

@@strikemaster1 Dude I wager your knowledge of scripture is such that you would declare the Qur'anic usage of the ancient Hebrew word, muslim, or Rabb, as anachronisms.

@@nickmansfield1 You would loose your money Nick. Your words have much to impress, but your spiritual discernment is lacking. This leads to shallow thinking; the path that many follow. That dont mean a whole lot in the scheme of things because it is the "many" who are those who follow the wrong shallow way posing as Christians, and only a few "remnants" who will find the true way. Your great words bounce off me like a ping pong ball. Nick, is there something I posted above you find incriminating? Or false?

There is no reason for a Christian to accept Muhammad word over Paul's. Muslims are not on higher moral ground to judge Paul.
