  • In this video I cover how you can set goals for art and how to achieve them. I targeted this video towards artist and specifically for art goals, but many of these apply to other types of goals as well! I hope these help you set suitable goals and reach them.

Thank you so much. It's a great video with great tips. I too have some artsy goals for next year like a weekly video, which I managed to do up until covid hit and I kind of want to go back to that. It helped me to paint more and I'd love to paint more and share it too. :)

Thank you so much for this video. I am really good at making lists and really bad at remembering to check them. I have tried all sorts of things that work well, like a big 8 sided die that tracks digitally when you flip it to swap activities during the day, tracker apps, bujo, but the second it's out of my sight, I'm back to being a pinball and bouncing between tasks and distractions. However, if I am working on something for someone else, then I seem to be able to plan it and stick to the plan with no problem. It's how to trick my brain into thinking everything is work that alludes me :D
I know that prompts aren't for everyone but I bought a couple of games for the family to play and ended up using them when I have art block. One game is 3 sets of cards; Nouns, Adjectives and Verbs with 6 options each so you get things like - sad hippo dancing, laughing cowboy swimming... and gives me something I wouldn't usually draw. I can take a couple from each and put them in my sketchbook for those times when I'm out and about and they take the pressure off of the "what to draw/I'm not in my comfy art spot at home" panics.

I have same problem. I do really pretty bujo spreads and forget them in second I close it. I have been building habit to check my calendar daily, and carrying it with me everywhere and I still tend to forget.
Good tips about prompts! I have some storyteller dices, so I can use those to generate ideas.
