Just a small bit of dubbing I did for one of my favorite graphic novels of all time. The Crow, written and drawn by James O'Barr-- inspiration for the incredible film of the same name.
Ever since I got back into voice acting, I knew I wanted to start doing comic dubs. I've been heavily inspired by Russian ComicBook Geek-- even before I started working with him, he's been one of my favorite creators on the platform. Wanted The Crow to be the first thing I tackled-- so here's the first chapter!
I have another piece-- a Spider-Man dub-- currently in the works, so keep an eye and an ear out for that! Gonna try to make that one even better!

Ah, here it is. My comfort audio. Going through a horrible time in my life, genuinely horrible, haven't slept in weeks because of the stress, haven't been able to eat because the anxiety makes me sick....
But this? This masterpiece is like free therapy. Been listening to it on repeat because it soothes me so much.

Am i about to actually tear up? Yeah, yeah i am. Loved the movie a lot, but i muat say i just love the graphic novel so SO much more. Comic!eric is genuinely the one character i adore most in all literature, AND MY GODS the voice you did for him? Exactly EXACTLY how i imagined it. Raspy yet velvety, somehow deep yet just a tiny bit high-pitched too, detached, unhinged... i love this. I love it. My GODS i love it. The anguish, the pain, the hatred, the loss... Captured perfectly.
Thanks so much, my friend. I love this franchise, and the graphic novel is still, almost 20 years later, one of the most poignant and evocative things I've read. It really makes me happy seeing people vibe with my performance with it. :) Definitely going to be doing a couple more scenes in the future!

Any thoughts on the phrase: “Are there spots in a leopard’s eyes also?
That’s a phrase that has lived rent free in my head ever since I first read this book. :p It may be a reference to the saying “there are no blind spots in a leopard’s eye”. Or maybe it’s Eric warning Jones to think about the things he can’t see or know.
I really wish I had some more profound answer for this one, but honestly, that one has always stumped me. I love it, though!

I plan on doing other comic dubs, and that includes some other sections from The Crow! Probably not the whole book, but definitely some more chapters!
