So sad to see the state that area is in now. I hope they do something with the hotel, it is a real eyesore. That aside, great video, nice to see what used to be even if it is not like that now.

Nice view of the small browns cafe on boating lake which hardly anyone seems to have footage or photos of. Probably are photos in private collections. Really want you to find footage of that cafe and lake in the 80s. It had the small arcade next to the cafe which was my favourite on the island along with Wightcity. And along the side of the boating lake were all the kids rides. Just outside the arcade was a section penned off for remote control boats which were pointless to go on on a windy day as they became uncontrollable, why did no one ever explain that to me.

I own a set of old amateur colour slides showing the bumper boats
and remote control boats in the foreground. from the early 80s.if you use Facebook they are on there.
