Excited when I first saw this. Thought for a second might see my Long-EZ. Then noticed it was 2022. I was there in N85PK around 1986. Guess I was a few years early. 1800 +++ trouble free hours in the Long-EZ. Heart Attack ended this pilot's Flying. Did get my Medical back but got more difficult each year. So here we are in 2023 and I am still above ground. Just no longer able to defy gravity.

Rough River is an awesome park. You guys go there again in the future I will definitely come. A dear friend, now passed, built and flew a Long EZ.

I love canard aircraft. I wish there were more available on MS Flight Sim. The Long-EZ is on there as payware but the rudders aren't accurate. Neither are the stall characteristics.
Fast, aerobatic, with a long range. Incredible value for performance. I've been a fan since the first time I thought I saw a plane flying backwards when I was 5 years old and no one believed me lol.

Great job on the video. Nice to see Chris from our RAFE class made it there. I missed this one, but hoping to fly 112TG in next year!

I’ve fished there and landed there. Never knew y’all had a fly in till I saw a canard wing plane in Colorado. The guy just got back from there. So I’m not but a short 40min flight away and I plan to make it down there some day and check out y’all’s handy work. So cool.

What altitude are these typically flown at for a long haul flight? I fly a Velocity XL in Flight Simulator and I’m curious what typical real life flight profiles are like, for those home-built unpressurized aircraft, and how it feels inside at high altitude.

above 11,5 is impractical due to the oxygen requirements but for best efficiency most people likely cruise between 6 and 11

I wanted to build one but it just takes too long to build compare to the aluminum kits that are out in the market.

It’s a Rutan VariViggen. They aren’t “kits” they’re made from plans. You actually have to build it! There are plans available and unfinished projects if you’re seriously interested contact us. RutanAFE@gmail.com
