You got the right of it. I have worked rigs rough, necking for 47 years. Since 1968. Every time the Democrats were in power, we had gas shortages lay off, or the price of oil just went in the toilet. Now, it is a push for electric everything. What do they have against the hard-working folks. I SAY VOTE NO ON THEM....... bring back the spinning chain, manual tongs, and 3 handles on the slips.

@@ulfson279 I mean I worked on a number of Nabors rigs so not sure what you’re laughing about, I know guys that work for Precision drilling and horizon drilling as of 2024 and none of them use fully automated rigs. Like I said, they cost way too much money, of the the entire rig fleet in North America they make up maybe 5%. Nothings changing anytime soon
@@robk5745 I know hands, drillers, and site supervisors that have worked on x25, x-29, and 3 different Offshore rigs and the 800 series rigs... And I'm laughing because "this won't be the future very long" either you think this rig is new or you think that it will be phased out real soon... Well your behind a little bit because the 800 has been out for a while.. also the x series and b series rigs have been out for a while... Hell, 2 days ago out on sanish hill (on the res in ND) I saw a rig still slinging chain... So either you don't know what you're talking about, or you heard it from someone thats bullshitting you... Either way... It's fucking funny... And either way your fucking incorrect..

Right on, brother, my carrier spaned 47 years from 68 to 15. On sight on the rig. The last 10 in the recovery and specialty end of it. I change, and technology has just made people lazy and increased micro-managing. Top pay and top bonuses from the backs of the old-timers made top managers look good. They send down a process improvement.....we made it work better on the rig.....they manipulated the numbers and graphs in their PowerPoint presentation and....VOILA......what a good idea. I am glad to experience roughnecking with the mentors and tough old buzzards from the 40s and 50s. Builds character, integrity, and want too.
