She’s 3-4 years older now since season 1, it’s also called makeup. They will make her look older, which she is.
@@bobbyfischer9927but she was the age in season one that Ellie is in part 2 and she could convincingly play a child. I think she will basically look the same, which is why they went with an actor with a much smaller build for Abby - it would’ve been ridiculous to see her and her tiny frame go up against a giant. No amount of makeup is going give her a growth spurt.

I think they will probably tell the story in chronological order this time. In other words, season 2 will focus on the flashback years that we see Ellie reflect on in TLOU Part 2. There'll also probably introduce Abby through her flashback scenes. Then the season finale would probably be the inciting incident of TLOU Part 2, with season 3 following the aftermath of it (e.g. Seattle and onwards). This is probably the most palatable way to translate the story to a TV audience, and we know that Abby will appear in season 2.

Why? It's the game you have a problem with. Most gamers whinge about the adaptation deviating too much from their beloved source even though the new medium often necessitates those deviations. They'll change it if it makes sense for the adaptation, not to retroactively temper the pissiness of gamers.

You adapt a property to expand an audience first, not to appease an existing one. Especially if the existing one is often incredibly toxic and tribal.
