What happens after 1 year rental assistance? The owner of the property has to fight 6 months to remove the residents when they don’t pay because the ‘free’ money ran out.

...and it wouldn't be a stretch to assume these properties will get utterly trashed, costing property owners hefty sums to repair the damages.
Yup! Squatters rights! Same thing with the illegals where Johnston gave 2k per mo for 6 mo. Polis just passed a bill that landlords need to offer a new lease or it could be a charge on landlords because he's trying to curve homelessness in disenfranchised communities.
The biggest help to this problem was changing the word from homeless to Unhoused. I’m picturing all the good it’s doing. Wow!! Major step forward!! I’m so proud of all that helped make this possible.
