In this episode we see Jamie Vardy in one of his greatest performances during the 2011/12 season against Yeovil Town. His team; Fleetwood Town were against the odds in this 2nd round replay after drawing 2-2 at home. If they won they would advance to the 3rd round in the FA Cup, for the first time in their history. The English striker was dangerous throughout and causing havoc in the opposition half. He scored the 2nd goal in the final moments, to seal a 0-2 victory. The 24 year old finished the season with 34 goals and 17 assists. Leicester City signed him that summer €1.25M and well the rest is history!
“The Match That Made” is an established series that I started doing back in 2018. The concept is to show the superstars of today, in their best performance of the season before they got signed to a top club. Of course 1 game doesn't make the player who they are today but those special performances are the ones that catch the eyes of world watching!
Let me know who you would like to see next time on “The Match That Made”!

Vardy is absolutely electric. His athleticism speed/quickness is not talked about enough. The only negative about him is his embarrassing diving and theatrics. As fans we have to really start a movement that gets rid of that cheating embarrassing behavior in this sport.
Edit: 4:46 is a perfect example. He throws his legs into the defender and got him sent off. That is disgusting behavior.

It's how you play football. How many people has Ronaldo it Messi sent of for diving? Probably 100s. If it gives your team the advantage then do it. It's not against the rules to dive

No offence mate, but I think you’re getting it mixed up here, the intelligence and control over your body to be able to not only position yourself correctly, move your body correctly all the while making it look like the other player took you out doing it all at the speed he’s doing it at is no offence art, he’s done it with Leicester’s winning season too. It’s so high lvl to decide in the moment my best option isn’t to shoot or to continue running, but instead I understand my defender is so close to me, if I slow my movement or run in an unorthodox way that my body will fall over itself is so smart and difficult to do. Just another Avenue for a player of his size and strength, he’s understood it’s another way a striker like himself can score, just like a 6foot 5 striker understand if he gets to the back post he’ll score a lot of goals with his head because the area in which a cross will be successful is far greater than that of a small 5 foot 10 striker. It’s conning the ref just like maradona did all those years ago. When you want to win so badly your mind will create avenues for you to do so with the bag of tricks your body has given you. Exceptionally talented.
