  • #105 spot of "365 Days of Plants" is Kleinia stapeliiformis, one of which I found by the side of the road and picked up and gave a home! This one has been moving around from genus to genus, but right now has been identified as a "Kleinia".
In this video I go over some basic care tips including where this plant grows natively, where I'm growing it in my home, propagation, watering, lighting and more.
You can check out more of these videos here and on my IGTV @homesteadbrooklyn.

My new thing to do when I get a plant and idk what it is. Is to come to her channel and search to see if she has made and video lol. Just got one of these today and didn't know what it was but now I do lol

I bought a tiny one of these around 6-9 months ago. It didn’t do much for the first month, but went crazy after that. I’ve repotted it twice now, and it’s probably 3x the size it was originally. I’ve heard people say it’s slow growing, but it’s been insanely fast for me.

I have a 4" pot of these. I bought it when it was just little. It tripled in size this spring, now they are very tall and gangly, they don't hang over like yours does though. I bought it because I loved the coloration and I'd never seen them before. I'm all about the rare and unusual :)

I love the unique look of this particular plant, I have never seen one of these in person, but if I were to run into one I would have to pick it up. Thanks Summer, love this series.

I bought one this past year with only three stems. It has been growing upright only. I put it outside in full sun this summer and it has grown three more stems. It is one of my favorite plants.

Recently bought one of these at a Farmer's Market...also known as Senecio stapeliiformis Upright and sturdy with bold markings. Growing fast for a succulant. Soaking up the sun and heat right in my south facing window. Hoping for unusually showy flowers at some point. Winter will be the main challange. Need to cut back on the water as the days shorten and become dramatically cooler in Canada.

Its my biggest passion to rescue plants. 💚 On my channel I have at least 10 videos about plants that I rescued🥰 last week I found 7 feet tall Pachira that was thrown away! My luckiest find yet! 😍🍾

This is one of my favorite plants of mine. I bought a super tiny one at my local garden center, it stayed the same size for one year and then this year it has tripled in size! This one definitely taught me patience. 😅

For some reason this plant reminds me of the movie Alien, I like this plant, just worried my cat would chew this plant too much. Thanks for the video Summer.

I got one which was growing upright. unfortunately my mum overwatered it when she took care of it for a while and some of the stems have been mushy and then dried out. is there a way how I can save the stems and propagate them? like cutting off the bad part, letting it dry a bit and then hope to get some roots like some succulet leaves do?

As strange as it may sound, they are of the composite family (Compositae or Asteraceae) . They have beautiful red flowers that look a bit like carnation.
