The concept of this game was awesome. The choice of picking different JDM cars in multiple iterations, plus the authenticity of name brand parts when you modify your car.. it was a great system that not only let you have fun while you play, but expose you to parts you will soon buy in the future if you decided on modifying a japanese car.
Seems like SRS's gameplay concept can be quite punishing since it can downgrade your overall performance for modifying its body kit.

My dream is for an SRS 2. That would be sick as. But Eutechnyx haven't made anything since some NASCAR games in 2012-2013. They also used to have an MMO NFS Shift style racing game called Auto Club Revolution which also came out in 2013, but I don't think that's up anymore. So I don't know if they're still doing stuff.
Well they kind of did make a follow up to it which was the fast and the furious 2006
for real, a remastered version but with more cars like the Nissan Maxima (from fast & furious 1), 95 civic coupe, etc

That's what makes SRS special compared to most racing games. Too bad you don't see that nowadays, plus adding more versions of the same car wouldn't cost more to license compared to licensing just one version of a car

I grew up on this game when I was little sooo.. yeah. It got completely scratched up and little me was devastated. Now I’m much older and just started playing Need for Speed Heat a few weeks ago and it really brings back memories of the good ‘ol days

Licensing. They used to use real manufacturers for performance, visuals and cars. Seeing how the supra hasnt been in games in a long time. Its dumb issues like that, that keep greater games from being made or released.

Man I loved this game! The thing I remember the most was switching from an AWD car to a RWD car was so much different and the RWD car always spun out on me and took a lot of practice and skill to drive it right! Ahh the good old days.

I remember the copy I got from blockbuster we rented years ago. The game would crash only after buying the Jetta, was hilarious! If you bought any other car it would ‘t crash! Played the whole game through and was great!

Early ps3 titles indeed had superior graphics compared to SRS, so you can't really compare that, if ppl wanted to compare a ps2 racing game to an early ps3 racing games, then the best ones are: Kaido battle 3, C1 Racing battle, GT4, Ford Street Racing

So many mixed reviews but we shouldn't knock people's opinion of this game it obviously has to be pretty good for someone to compare it to alot of other racing games .

I remember that game on PC, and later on PS2... and I remember how many glitches I had on PS2, like "Grey Screen of Death" (after exit from Car Showroom or inside of Car Showroom) or invisible parts of car.
But SRS is a good game in my opinion. Just like TFatF (anyway TFatF is a young brother of SRS. The reason is that same game engine, developer and publisher)

For anyone wanting to play this game. There’s a steam version available so no need to use power hunger PCSX2. Just low spec pc can run this
Does the PC version have split-screen multiplayer? I know PC versions of these games from the mid-2000s had NO split-screen multiplayer whatsoever, in which case, PCSX2 is your best bet.

last time I played it was in 2015 or 16 on a 4460 and 970 didn,t think it would work as I was already let down command and conquer generals won t work on win 8 or 10 but srs does by surprise
