Definitely a fun scramble. Did this today hiked through to the beacon fire tower and back through sugarloaf. It stopped being fun after the first 6 miles lol.
Awesome beautiful vlogging, hiking and scenery, love this area and have done extensive hiking and motorcycling, this trail is on my hit list for this year, I just subscribed to your channel, looking forward to following you.
Thank you for the super informative video and all the great shots. I'm trying to figure out if I'd be able to handle this scramble and I needed a better idea of what I'm dealing with 😬
@@ryanlikeshiking How was your hike? I always check weather forecast and carry a small flashlight, map, and compass. Day hikes end as night hikes if something goes wrong.
My wife and I did 3/4 of this a couple years back due to a late start. It’s a really good long scramble, but unfortunately due to its cool name and convenient location to the rail stop makes it slightly too popular, especially among people who are inexperienced and badly equipped (some wearing flip flops). Also unfortunate is the fact that too many people think they need to cover rock with graffiti.
Hey, looking to do a hiking trip in a couple weeks with a group a friends. We’re all beginners and did storm king mountain which was a good time. What’s the best trail for beginners that you can take the metro north to? Would you say this one or cold spring/anything else?
This one’s good. Anything in Hudson highlands state park will be good tbh. The nice thing is you can shorten or keep extending most routs because of how many trail intersections there are. Check out my video on Beacon Mountain. The trails actually connect with the trails from this hike
The best part of the scramble is looking down. Such a rewarding feeling
So true
Whoa, love the free rock climbing. Would definitely like to try this hike!
Yeah it’s a fun time!
Went for the first time this Saturday and it was amazing and so fun! I powered through the scramble! It got my adrenaline going!!
Awesome! Thanks for commenting!
"The guy in the Chinese government whose in charge of NOT freeing tibet" - hilarious line.

Yeah it’s nicer during the week when the trail has less foot traffic

Very helpful video!
Question: What stop did you get off and does it stop there on the weekends?
Thanks! I got off at the breakneck ridge stop the first time I hiked it. The second time I drove. Not sure about the metro north train schedule
@@FinerBub Thank you!
No problem
I almost fell in too many areas. I don’t know how I came out of there alive.
Maybe stick to some easier trails. Wouldn’t want you to hurt yourself
