    Thank you for a great video. Ím assuming that given the use of 20 volume you are coloring with permanent or oxidative dye and not a Demi permanent which usually requires 10 volume. Can you confirm that for me? Also, most oxidative dyes require 45 minute processing times to reach completion. The majority of the processing time is for blowing open the cuticle and the last 10-15 minutes for color deposition. So I was wondering if it was permanent hair color that you were applying, why you processed only 10 minutes? Is it because the way hair is factory dyed renders it more porous with an already open cuticle? Typically if you want a lighter result you apply a level 7 or 8 color, but still process the 45 minutes. There’s also a product made by Roux called Clean Touch color remover that might be useful in cleaning the base of any inadvertent dye transfer as it works on skin and fabric. I was also thinking about using hairline barrier Creme to protect the base. Probably more expensive than conditioner, but worth a try to see if it works better. Thanks for sharing, sandy

    What did you use to protect the base? You said "conditioner", is it regular conditioner?

      How do I color my unit that has 40% gray? I want to keep the gray but just darkin the human hair a bit.
      Since the gray hair is synthetic, I am hoping that the human hair will except the color and the gray won’t. Have you experienced this and if so, what product did you use? Thank you.

    I know u put conditioner on the underside of the base to protect it, but how do u keep colour off the top side of the base, e.g., at the front of the hairline? I dyed a hair system a while bk and got colour all over the front topside of the base, where the hairline is.

      Simple, you should have put extra conditioner and push it from the underside all the way to the topside, about 1 mm or 2 above the lace and then dye your system with care. I came across this advice on this vid czcams.com/video/QD7MPgXOvSo/video.html&ab_channel=mgford%28TheHairReplacementStylist%29

    Do you find coloring hair systems shorten their lifespan?

    • @hair4alluk
      @hair4alluk  Před 9 měsíci

      It lengthens the lifespan - here is why - if a system needs a colour it has become more porous - the color returns the system to a better feel which means brushing the system is easier - less friction less hair loss

  • @christophermartinlobb2260

    Phil, is that permanent or semi-permanent colour? Does it have a brand name?
    I colour-boosted my system in recent days using Trendman colour capsules; they provide colour improvement that lasts up to eight weeks. The job was a success, and coating the base underside with hair conditioner (which I had picked up from your video 👍) prevented colour absorption by the lace, even though I had to immerse the system in a solution of the booster in water. I left it soaking for approximately twenty-five minutes.
    Here's my problem: Trendman colour capsules are, to my knowledge, impossible to obtain these days (my supply is years old and is running out), so what to use instead? I learned from one of MHE videos (Curtis) of a product called DP Hue, a colour-boosting cream in a tube that comes in various shades, including the one I believe is appropriate for my system, mid-brown. Do you know anything about the stuff?
    Finally, would you recommend Just for Men hair colourant for your systems?

    • @hair4alluk
      @hair4alluk  Před 3 lety

      Hey Chris thanks for the post - semi permanent colour salon use and 20 vol 6% creme - your colour to buy would be a 6.1 or 6a quarter of a tube mixed with same amont of 20 vol 6% .;the colour will take quickly as the hair system you have :-) is not over processed. plenty of conditioner on the base and aprrox 5 mins
      Cheers Phil
