Another fun thing about them is that their names come from the onomatopoeia キラキラ (kirakira, meaning sparkle)!! If you rearrange it, you get kiki and rara (R’s and L’s are often interchangeable sounds in Japanese)!

My oldest sister was born in 1980 and her favorites sanrio characters are the Little Twin Stars as she grew up with them. I think their designs are truly timeless.

I was born in the early 80’s, Little Twin Stars are 190% my fave! Followed by My Melody then Hello Kitty 🥰 I especially love the baby blue aesthetic hello kitty from the 90’s. Kiki & Lala make me feel so super nostalgic I love them SM 🥰🎀💜🍭

I just finished the series and I have so many questions, like why does Kiki need the star on his back if they can both fly? I also wish there was more about Nemurin, he's introduced as a prince and you see him on a throne in the first episode but there's no more mentions of it afterwards. I wish they would make an updated version with the original animation style, and *maybe* in 3D if they made it look really cool
I think the reason Kiki has a star on his back is because he might have trouble flying good. Think about it with training wheel, you know "how to ride a bike" but you still need a little help with it.
