One of the greatest bands of all time. Jeff actually wrote the drum part for Stevie Wonder. And btw, he was 28-29 years old and playing like that. Damn. That’s is talent.
I have known for a good, long time that Stevie Wonder wrote this song for Jeff Beck. Until now, though, I haven't listened to Beck's version...WOW, just...WOW! Stevie's and Jeff's versions of Superstion are two completely different songs, amazing!
...not a lot of people associate Beck Bogart and Appice with this song very well...rightfully so Beck owns this song but Stevie Wonder got control and recognition of it by legal means...and he made a hit of it, the story goes like two weeks before Beck and the Band could do anything about it...and of course management was involved...But still this is BBA's track and a killer one at that...the vocals of Carmine singing and on Drums and Timmy singing backup and on Bass guitar...you really have to hear the Album to appreciate the depth of their commitment to the ideas...Freaking Rock Solid! Thanx for the post...much appreciated! Rock on!
It was Stevie and Jeff's song, though Beck only contributed drums (!) in the writing of it. Wonder decided Beck could release his own version ahead of him, but Berry Gordy, Motown CEO, thought Wonder's would be a bigger hit. Though it was Gordy's call, not Wonder's, Beck held a grudge for awhile, but they got past it. Beck did "Cause We've Ended As Lovers" by Wonder and that is an amazing tune!
Might have been on Euclid Ave. near East 55th street, a hall called the Grandee Theater. Saw them there once, might have been the '73 show the OP mentioned.
WELL, MANY THANX TO YOU MAN! THIS TUNE BY THE TRIO IS SOMETHING ELSE FOR ME TO WATCH-"THE PREMIERE" LET`S SAY!! I USED TO HAVE IT A" FAR LONG" IT TIME AGO ON VINYL BACK IN POLAND, GOT IT FROM THE STATES WITHOUT THE COVER, ORIGINAL, FIRST PRESS COPY, REMEMBER! HAD NO IDEA WHO IT WAS AT FIRST- IT WAS NOTHING THOSE DAYS IN MY RED COUNTRY! NADA! I COULD GIVE A LOT TO FIND OUT WHO!!! I DID LATER! NOW, I ONLY GOT LEFT A CD ALBUM COPY. STILL, BETTER THAN NOTHING! WHY? BECAUSE IT`S F*****G SOOO GOOOD! YES, IT IS! IT`S TIMELESS! THANX AGAIN! REGARDS, THOMAS(POLAND-CHICAGO)
Carmine Appice is in IMHO the only man who could've successfully sat John Bonham's drum stool! Although his son did do a fine job of keeping the family tradition going(I'm just saying that in a pinch, Jimmy Page did have choices)..
Everyone-soloing-at-once bands, like this one, is why Stevie Wonder is known around the globe for this song and BB&A enjoys an almost nonexistent audience. So much of this soul-less, lily-white nonsense existed in this era, probably emboldened by Cream, who managed to have a real style.
Tim Bogert was one of the best - if not THE best - bass player in rock back then. I saw this band in April of '73, 15th row center on the floor. Boy, were they loud!! Paul Butterfield and Wet Willie opened the show. VERY cool concert!
I have their original vinyl. One of THE best early 70's, one album, power trios, ever. Aside from ZZ Top, Grand Funk Railroad, Emerson, Lake & Palmer, etc.. What could have been with this band
RIP Jeff and Tim. Thanks for the fantastic music.

still one of the best tunes ever. So long JEFF & TIM

Had this album...
The other guys were in Vanilla Fudge
One of the coolest tunes ever played by one of my favorite bands. 👍👍❤❤Great memories of being young and in love.
RIP Jeff BBA was Super great 3piece Band have ever heard.
R.I.P master Jeff Beck
thanks for uploading this - the audio here is mixed much better than on other copies.
Power trio de fantástico..... Sem palavras pra descrever essa performance
Tim & Vinnie such good singers too! Jeff always got the good guys, this is fantastic power from 3 guys!!! wow!!
Carmine Appice on the drums and vocals with Tim.
Saw them in Brighton. A few years later I saw Rod Stewart in Brighton and Carmine was his drummer too.

@@mikegovette1297 hi Mike, thanks for the info! Didn’t know that…
Saw them in Cleveland in 1973-amazing band!
Where at...?
Might have been on Euclid Ave. near East 55th street, a hall called the Grandee Theater. Saw them there once, might have been the '73 show the OP mentioned.
Fan fuggin tastic!! Thanks for this… tuzigoo!!! Subscribed!
this IS how it's done, kids....
One and only the tone❤jeff r.i.p😢
I saw them on April 1 1973 in Albany, NY.
I saw Carmine with Vanilla Fudge last year. He can still do it at a high level.
Beck was the best and Carmine , Bogert bringing it home
What a performance!

still love it!!
Such a shame that this lineup couldn’t have produced much more.
Carmine Appice is in IMHO the only man who could've successfully sat John Bonham's drum stool! Although his son did do a fine job of keeping the family tradition going(I'm just saying that in a pinch, Jimmy Page did have choices)..
Vocals are very Grand Funkish!
Incredibile musica e band ⭐⭐⭐⭐😍🇮🇹
Carmine is beating the hell out of those drums.
His trademark...
beating those drums into submission!
jeff mentioned in an interview that he heard mike pinera use "the bag" and after that he didn't use it.
sooooooooooooooo dam good !
Hey kids, here is the drummer Bonham learned.
btw Carmine is still doing drum clinics too.
CARMINE APPICE is a Beat BEAST MASTER player, performer, clinician AND recorded Drum Dynamo Master-Beat BLASTER..!!
GOD BLESS Jeffery Arnold. JEFF BECK..!! RIP my Brother Jeff Beck.!!
True SUPER GROUP
Great band !
Che band ragazzi ❤️
Bogert and Appice of Vanilla Fudge comprised the global premier rock rhythm section pre- Led Zeppelin.
AWESOME!!
That was epic never heard it before.
What a badass!!!
Capolavoro per quegli anni
완!벽!해!
Fucking amazing. Power trio and a half.
fawking ferocious!!
CarmineAppice is grrrreat!
❤ Jeff... ❤

yeah what you said
Totally Jammin!!
Saw this band in 1972 or 73' at the Coliseum, in Indianapolis Indiana
Lucky you. Missed going to see them at the Amphitheater when they played their last concert in Chicago 1974.
Mestres!!!
Awesome! All 3 are amazing but Carmine is physically part of those drums... what an animal!
Maybe you have to be a bassist to have a favorite player, but I've always liked Tim Bogert.
Tim Bogert was one of the best - if not THE best - bass player in rock back then. I saw this band in April of '73, 15th row center on the floor. Boy, were they loud!! Paul Butterfield and Wet Willie opened the show. VERY cool concert!
I heard that Tim was the only guitarist that Jeff was afraid of.
Is it the same Appice who later played with the beloved Oz, ...or was it the beloved Iommy???
Bad ass
Super gruppo nulla da invidiare ai Cream .
It's great but why does it look like it was filmed in 1928?
I believe the video is live, but the soundtrack from the BBA LP recording has been dubbed in.
Yep i can see it but still cool
The only trio with 2 great vocalists ? Seems so.
Clapton /Bruce 🤷♂️
Calling Carmine a "great" vocalist is a stretch. He was adequate, but Bogert had a much better voice.
Grand Funk had 2
@@samdeninno1951 Yes, they did.

What could have been with this band
Que versión de puta madre
Kramer gutar
A band in desperate need of a vocalist.
Tim Bogert had a very good voice, and was no hack. Carmine, not so much.
