Really classy lady, good voice, great song not to mention no "body art", no "wardrobe malfunctions", no f-word every five seconds....Good Lord, I am getting old!
my favourite singer of all time and I've had dinner with sandie when I lived in London. she came to my application one evening with her boyfriend and daughter gracie x
Just a few months before this show she was an office worker at a Ford plant in Dagenham, England...Discovered by Adam Faith...never sang in public before...love those bare feet!!! I just found the Long Live Love compilation in a bargain bin at an FYE store...best $2.50 I ever spent!!! Long Live Sandy Shaw!!!!
thank you, u;loading my youth, my dreams, my future that now is a mess, thank you for putting me into a dream again thinking i am sitll young god bless
How we danced to this. It was a smashing hit and so new as was all other songs then.
Před 7 lety+1
Yes, back in those days it seemed like there was an exciting new song or new artist virtually every week. And great radio stations and TV programs featuring them as well. Most of the music was wonderful to dance to.
I had a real crush on Sandie singing this particular song ,Then we where about the same age must have been in about 1965 .Just cant get my head around it was nearly half a century ago -where did all the years go?
I am about the same age as you and think the same. Where did half a century go ? I am drawing a state pension(just ) but I suppose we are both lucky to be still going.!
thanks for posting this , Sandie is so young there , ahhhh I love her so much , and I dont mean that in a nasty stalking kinda way , I love her style and image and voice , she is insoirational
Bob Silver Yes, Bob Silver. Bird. Girl. Totty. Crumpet. It is colloquial English English. Presumably it is not the same in American English. It is not really politically correct (but then neither am I), but these terms are still used, albeit not so much nowadays, by Englishmen when talking of ladies.
I think a contemporary of Sandie shaw is Corrine Drewery of Swing Out Sister. She has a retro style/look much like Sandie in the 1960's.Thanks for posting.
My favourite 60's Brit Pop singer and possibly one of the most beautiful women ever, gorgeous cheek bones and just sheer natural beauty! She seems to be day dreaming at 1:39 and almost forgets to come back in haha.... there was no miming going on there:).
@pegasus10para hello ...just like to agree with you a lovely song . always liked sandie very much meet her in 1973 with my aunty smiling .... i think know she is beautiful lady ..bless brian take care
Djstevie57 - sandie shaw had the chance to record "it's not unusual" but turned it down and it was offered to Tom Jones. The backing music was arranged by the same team. Sandie had a lot of confidence in this song and it became a hit.
Maybe because it wasn't made in 1965? Baby you are long, long ago....from Sandra Dee to Bobby Darin's ears as he laid in a hospital bed in LA somewhere recuperating from another heart attack. The only thing going for him was his hospital tv which aired Eurovision 1970 contest. Then, he died.
+Mary Lynn Johnson-Kerker She only says so because, ironically, she never hit it really big in the U.S. even though her sound wasn't a very far cry from American singers of her era.
R JN You guys are crazy...She is not American she is british and she was one of the most successful pop singers at the time...She has been described as "the barefoot pop princess of the 1960s"
There were two British ladies who did fine on the American Charts. Does Dusty Springfield and Pat Clark ring a bell? They both had several top tens in America.
Notice from c1.50 that backing is identical to "Its Not Unusual" by Tom Jones.Apparently Sandie was offered INU but turned it down because it might make a female sound "unsavoury". You can probably think of correct wording. However,it didn't do TJ any harm!! 5*
you think you had it bad, I was born in1966 and my aunty has her exact looks, even if I had a chance of dating Sandie it would only feel SO WRONG for me on so many levels.
@zzheavensdoor - I think she said once that she couldn't see very well without glasses, and so didn't wear shoes to avoid the possibility of wrenching her ankle or the like. Of course, the fact she's 6' tall without shoes may have been another factor.
Really classy lady, good voice, great song not to mention no "body art", no "wardrobe
malfunctions", no f-word every five seconds....Good Lord, I am getting old!
I love you Sandie Shaw. You are the voice of the 1960's and will never be forgotten
What an era of wonderful popular music many of us have lived through.
I'm 62 this year .. I knew when I was growing up in the 60's
I was in a special era.. I wouldn't give up a second to be young now..
my favourite singer of all time and I've had dinner with sandie when I lived in London. she came to my application one evening with her boyfriend and daughter gracie x

So glad I grew up in the 60s and 70s. Feel sorry for the teenagers today.
Yes, sadly our generations music sucks. Even if someone up here Got upset its true.
sandie was beautiful plus a great voice she had it all i really loved her style ..classy doll x
I carried a picture of her around with me in my back pocket for three years when I was in infants school, and I'd forgotten why. Now I remember :)
There's something beautifully simplistic about her voice, it's great!!
Sandie Shaw, stunning
and she still is too
commodore665
your not wrong pal
why cant we just all return to the sixties things were so much better and simpler then
+redhawk429 I want to to be in the 60's right now, 2015 is depressing and seems evil
+redhawk429 ' more simple'
I empaphise with you. I feel I grew up in the wrong centuary. I prefer the 20th centuary and the previous ones than the 21st centuary.
I saw her singing live and can tell you she was really good.
I remembering thinking at the time she is a star.
The sixties were the best. I weep for what this world has become.
Thank for uploading this - fun childhood memories...
So damn lucky having lived my teenage in the 60's.
The awesome Sandie Shaw... gorgeous, I love you Sandie Shaw...xxxx
what a doll ! WOW!
what gets me on this one every time is the "mmm-mmmmh", after the chorus. speaks so much without saying anything.
So gorgeous. A diffident charm that is almost utterly absent from every artist to make it "big" of recent years.
How we danced to this. It was a smashing hit and so new as was all other songs then.
Yes, back in those days it seemed like there was an exciting new song or new artist virtually every week. And great radio stations and TV programs featuring them as well. Most of the music was wonderful to dance to.
Love this old song.

Written by Chris Andrews. Chris wrote many songs for Sandie. I have a CD and 11 of the 13 tracks were written by Chris
She was a nice looking woman, great song too.
Didn't realise, probably cos I was a kid but she was really beatiful
Sandie Shaw was so beautiful back then and perfect for this song. What is she doing now?
The melody sounds like it has a lot in common with "Come Dancing" by the Kinks.
Doesn't it just - first time I've noticed that.
Her voice was cute in this song
She was produced by Chris Andrew who also wrote this song. He had his own hits with Yesterday man and To Whom It Concerns.
FAR OUT!!!
no comment sandy is great got some Duane eddy thanks
I wish I could have met her at this age to see what she looked like in the flesh.
Epitome of the sixties.sexiest shimmy ever.

Another artist with music too good for America ...
+Jean O'Boyle She is British !
+Jean O'Boyle I am American and always been a fan of hers.
