My dog always acted like she hated my cat, but when my other dog passed and then the cat started to get sick, she did anything and everything she could for her. She would let our cat eat from her bowl, stand under her while they both drink from the water bowl, and she would curl up with the cat in front of the fire. I miss them both very much

I hope Hammy gets over Olivia's passing quickly. It is so sad. I had a bonded pair named Jack & Benny. Benny suffered a medical emergency and died in minutes. Fortunately, after about a week Jack started to snap back to his old self.

This is what I was thinking. They should work on these dogs anxiety of being apart. Because they won't pass on at the same time, so it could help the surviving one cope. As for you though, I understand how hard that loss is...I put my 13 yr old GS down a year and a half ago and it was the hardest thing I've ever done. But I implore you to seek therapy if you need it. There's no shame, and a loss is a loss. It doesn't matter if you lost a parent or a pet the pain feels the same....
