      Didn't used to be so bad Simon...but now since they have been digging and ripped the old road up I don't trust the place at all

    Nice codling. It's supposed to be canny off the cliffs at Ryhope as well.

      Up to 100ft some of our cliffs...although if you watch my mist recent video you will see the issues I face when hooking into massive fish on the same mark

    I've never been sea fishing - could you have used those Codling guts as a bait?

    • @geordieblanker
      @geordieblanker  Před rokem

      Ahh you will have to try someday....its half the rush just not quite knowing whats out there...and unfortunately not....large bird population there so atleast the young get to eat it

    Rap a little tape on first then reverse the tape so sticky side up and don't rap to tight

    So do you guys' ever fish where you don't have to walk in three miles in or a hundred yards straight up & down? lmao. Another thing...cod off the rocks. We're traveling twenty to thirty miles offshore to even get a whiff of a cod... Not a bad fish though. Hey, thanx for posting bud.

    • @geordieblanker
      @geordieblanker  Před rokem +1

      Haha yeah the marks are usually a bit of a hike like...I mean that mark is only 10 minutes from my flat so not too bad....id be offshore myself if I had any sea legs....none stop puking from start to finish 🤮

    Nice video one question how do you safely return an undersized fish from up there ?

    • @geordieblanker
      @geordieblanker  Před rokem

      The good thing about being up there is the lack of undersized fish...ive yet to have one undersized and I've fished there 1000 times....I know lads who will even used the gripper led to lower a fish back into the water....but yeah luckily no undersized yet

    Just use the tape next time mate

    • @geordieblanker
      @geordieblanker  Před rokem +1

      I initially thought of using the tape but worried it would be too slippy on the braid...ill have to try next time...cheers

    Great video.
    You may want to think about making something like this line gaff for your cliff/pier fishing.
    Im not sure how long the line would need to be but I've seen videos of people using similar to gaff fish up the cliffs. This is for your bigger fish ofcourse
