  • If you're thinking about buying a new construction home, one thing you should consider is where is the housing development located. There is a lot of development in the Hutto area, but Hutto is also home to the Williamson County Landfill. Find out how this can impact home values in the area.

It's safer, and less smelly, living near the Hutto landfill, than it is living in Downtown Austin.

That's funny but there is truth to it.

Depends on which way the wind typically blows.

Thanks for pointing out that important factor!

People seem to have lost that “location location location” thing these days. I saw a street in the suburbs of St Louis where the little bungalows are being torn down and big houses jammed on the little lots (like Austin). I did a street view of a couple of the big houses for sale. Within eyesight, down the street, was a railroad track, huge power lines, and an old industrial area. Okaaay.
Then there’s all that new construction outside Houston, but the schools in those areas are just bad. Maybe they’re building a new school in each subdivision.

Thanks for sharing your observations! It's always interesting to see how different areas are developing.
