Airbnb used to be an affordable way to stay but then the "Hosts" increased the rental for a bedroom to the price of a 2 star Motel 6. Right now the cheapest room on Airbnb is located in the Tenderloin by Gary and Powell for Two adults is $99 a night plus a one time $25 cleaning fee and $31.48 Airbnb fee . The Hilton in the financial district is $119 a night and you get your bed made each day. There are articles devoted to the topic of Airbnb owners who are on the verge of financial ruin after the over saturation of Hosts with Airbnb.

I do not feel bad for Airbnb host. As far as I’m concerned they were a part of the cities problem that initially caused us to be where we’re at now. They have taken housing away from people who need it and turn those houses in the short term rentals, and now the economy is tanking, and people aren’t spending that much on their travels, especially to a place that’s crime ridden and filled with homeless and drug addicts. You own a home that is worth at least $1 million so if you’re that hard up, sell. It’s only a real godsend for you and you’re only looking out for you.

Airbnb seems like a way to earn extra money, not depend on it for your whole income to live.
