Thank you so much for your clear explanation of playing on the leg side. The short step to make room for the bat is genius. I have been practicing about 80 balls everyday for the last 6 weeks using my Joe Root bowling machine in preparation for the season( Covid permitting). By using your technique of head straight,leading with the head and short step I am now feeling confident on leg side play. Thanks

Try to cover the spin
Just don't throw your bat towards the ball
Let the ball come closer and block it as late as possible with soft hands
Always watch the ball till the end
