In 2013 Skyrim and Minecraft announced the Minecraft Skyrim Edition mash-up pack. From Skyrim character skins, to Skyrim locations rebuild in Minecraft. Well we took a look at the strange and awesome Skyrim crossover when Skyrim showed up in another game.

@@kamenanew9867 The Dolly Llama is what I like to call the Fortnite llama. I think it's funny, you're good dude, but Shegorath and Draugr really got me deep. That crazy quest line provides for some of the most fun. A quest you have to kill a rock and insult a puddle of water so hard it instantly evaporates or so hoped. The weird quest you have to "die" but not actually to learn this very powerful spell.

You hit the nail on the head. They gotta deal with building locations without being able to video game magic them to be bigger on the inside than the outside.

@@BlackMoonHowls I actually did that one time, but I used it as a guard tower/gate instead. We had a wall go around our big courtyard area, with the small hollowed mountain, and then we build an actual tower part up from the mountain as well. It was pretty neat.
I had forgotten about this completely but I remember playing this as a kid when I had no idea what Skyrim was. Having played Skyrim now and thinking back to when we played it makes that so weird.
I explored the same world twice and never realized it was the same.

It's important to note that the Skyrim world released much before the Halo one did, and 4J's team was still learning their style for mashup packs

I think Dragonsreach's main hall is comparable in size, minus the obvious missing rooms, the problem is likely that all foundational items are blocks, meaning that where in Skyrim items like furnishing and pillars and whatnot could be designed to be less claustrophobic, in Minecraft it's all large 3D blocks and occasional small objects attached to said blocks.
Kinda disappointed the Nether wasn't turned into that Dwemer city where you find the Elder Scroll...

I use to play in a world with a group of friends where we used this skin and after a while I’d spent so much time playing with it it became weird to play without it
This mash up pack was sick I loved setting fire to whiterun
The Mass Effect was the first mash-up pack to be released on the Xbox 360 and was very weird

Oh heck yea! I wish they had done a lot more with this, but it was still super cool. I just wish it had the depth and detail the Halo mash-up pack had. I LOVED the Nord transition haha, that was amazing
Might as well show all the mash up packs at this point. If I'm not mistaken, the pirate of Caribbean had actual water in the nether.

@@Chimpson2009 not really, that was in the overworld. the nether was just decorated to fit within the mashup
I think a tamriel map would have been cool too, with one landmark representing each location in a scaled down version of the world map
It sucks that because this was an early mash up pack that it doesn’t have all of the locations and features of the newer ones since then
There’s just whiterun, riverwood, that one tower. and the entrance to bleak falls barrow
I started watching this and was like "wait, isn't this the Halo dude?" Cool to see you covering other interesting stuff from games.
Also the pirates of the carribean one is amazing! The skins and texture pack are my favourite and I actually play with the texture pack, but the world with it is incredibly impressive, it's got the locations from all the films in it and they are all fun to explore
this is how I found out about skyrim, minecraft ps3 edition, and it was fucking love at first sight, now they are both 2 of my fabourite games

It’s definitely cool that your going through the different mashup packs in Minecraft Xbox one edition! This is the version of Minecraft that I put deer in to my heart and I still played too thiiss daayy!🙂

As someone who didn't even know what Skyrim was when I played this as a kid. It didn't occur to me why some of the locations felt strangely familiar when I tried Skyrim for the first time in 2019, until I remembered this.

The mashup is kind of useful as a world template and texture pack, and the extra skins are used by villagers.
I remember building so much on this and the halo pack world, these were awesome

Not gonna lie, for 1-2 years afterward I played with that texture pack on my normal worlds. I'm not much of an Elder Scrolls fan, but that texture pack was really well done and was a nice fresh alternative to the normal minecraft look.

It's really cool to see you guys branching out to new content/videogames

It may have been a coincidence but I didn’t see this vid recommended to me until after your post about slow views (also I’m subbbed). Maybe there’s some algorithmic issue going on too? Not sure but love the vid and loved this pack in middle school.
It would be cool too go into the end portal and be in a recreation of sovenguard were you can defeat the end dragon (Alduin)
Funny story I came home from work and my wifi was down. Called the wifi people and they couldn’t figure it out so I wasn’t able to play Skyrim which I have been playing through on game pass. Found an old Minecraft disk popped it in and ironically it had this mincraft Skyrim thing after some exploring here I am haha (on phone data)
I think they could easily add in a Skyrim game mode into the game.

It seems to me more a role play world. The exteriors are really cool, but the interiors are really disappointing, mainly Dragonreach. In the back of Jarls throne there’s a big empty room that they could fill with things that are actually really in the back of the Jarl hall. But the the texture pack is really cool, mainly if you to the armor and tools ( except for the dragonbone/ netherite set) and most of skins are really good so are the mobs.
