What makes me so sad is how untenable transition is because of the energy involved in order to switch over. The mineral extraction alone ( cobalt in Africa for batteries for example) is just a mind boggling problem. And wind turbines don't last but 30 years, not to mention all the fossil fuel driven processes needed to make concrete to construct the cores, among other things. I don't see the solar light at the end of the tunnel.
Jen, so you intend to sit on your chuff and do nothing then? You've given up have you, or rather never intended to do anything? That's not the spirit of the British is it?
Thanks Nuala and XR. Clear and considered information on the pathway to survival. Wouldn't it be great if Novara came to the table instead of their armchair news commentary. Sitting on a couch never enabled change. It's operating on the wrong side of history.

Hopefully now extinction rebellion get labelled domestic terrorist and each time they are arrested a minimum 5 year sentence is handed to them by the courts.

How is he not treating the topic seriously? If you actually listened to the content of this interview I think you’d understand that novara take this much more seriously than most outlets who are constantly questioning the movements.
@@TomMAF4 Actually I did listen to the whole programme. I was disappointed that he used this word at least twice. Sometimes being jolly is not appropriate. XR folk are now putting their freedom on the line for us. So I say choose your words carefully. I agree MSM have been very poor on the Big One.

As for her comment about food shortages that just ridiculous !! the world produces a greater abundance of food now than it has in the history of the human race. There are NO famines in the world ANYWHERE outside of war type situations.
You are looking at the coming situation our species shall face from the wrong side of the fence.

Surly you are not suggesting as we continue to warm that fresh water and agriculture will continue to be so abundant ?

I am interested in the reality that the world has more food now supplying 8 billion people than when it had to feed 2 billion. It because of progress, innovation, fossil fuel powered machinery, increased crop yields etc etc.
