Glad to see that Daigo-sensei selected Ryu for now. But like all of us, he has still a long way to go in utilizing all the mechanics in order to show his maximum potential for this game. A lot of opportunities were given for big punished involving the Crush-Counter and combos involving the use of V-Trigger. That, and not a single parry was given. Hopefully Daigo-sensei will stick to Ryu and go to (and beyond!) the limits of the game. If somebody can do it, it's Umehara-san!
+damien claxton Ryu isn't that weak. But you cannot play him like in USFIV. Like Daigo does here, but in a few weeks.. You'll see some major changes to his Ryu. Of this I am certain.

+Skeptic Gamer he sure does look weak. just the same old ryu where as every other char has fast, tricky moves that are hard to react to, some are overheads, some low hitting and they all have something that ignores fireballs.
People are saying Ryu is trash in this game but why not give credit to Nuki? He's been one of the best Chun players since 3rd Strike and he seems to have a good grasp of the character already
+rtql8d Nuki's use of Chun-li's air lightning kick is what threw Diago off because no one uses it at all or that precise. So yep, Nuki is good at chun-li.
When the first impressions of SFV came out, it was clear Capcom wanted to punish gratuitous -spamming- zoning. Anyone who follow through Street Fighters tounaments knew there and then, Daigo had his work cut out for him. Which means either he learns how to use his V-Skill, or he changes characters. Ryu is a strong char ppl, just because Daigo lost it doens't mean Ryu is shit, it just means someone bested the beast. :v Idk what's wrong with SF community. The player has to adjust his playstyle to the game, not the other way around.
Daigo might also be having a hard time because most of his combos in USF4 with evil ryu depended a lot on FADC.. Though I may be wrong because I'm no expert on Street Fighter or fighting games in general.. But I do hope Daigo manages to catch up to where he was in USF4 /:
got lol. patients comes with virtue. hate that capcom have somehow made ryu/ Ken kind of mundane. it doesn't mean ryu is crap but it's more of a challenge I suppose. as for daigo I wouldn't worry bout him, like all other tournament players he will get better. just like any of u I would only worry about myself. if their is any pro tournament players on here commenting then I'm sure they only checking on the competition. is anybody here a pro???
capcom fucked up ryu and chun li. the most rubbish ones in the game. they gave chun li loads of different moves but hard to do combos and more complicated moves. its even easier to play with cammy.

I fell sorry for Daigo. Ryu is utter trash in this game. His chances of winning EVO with this char are close to zero.
