It's not saying they sucked before and their music made peoples' ears bleed. Comparitively, her overall singing has improved over time, as you would expect with a performer. Even pros improve. We all have room to improve. Doesn't mean we all suck, just means perfection is hard to grasp. Have a snazzy day!
IKR! I was blown away from the start but hearing their newer material after so long is amazing! I was scared when I saw a pic of her smoking because I knew a few singers whose voice died from it.
I agree, she keeps getting more and more amazing with every passing year, as does the rest of the group. The message of the lyrics is clearer every time, and her performance is just out of this world more surprising with each new video. Granted I'm no music expert so I cannot talk to the vocals but sounds like perfection to me 🌚💜

The amazing and disturbing mystery of Taylor Momsen. I suspect that I am not the only one who can see in her the creative talent of a true goddess.
But she remains underrated. I don't mean the record companies and the whole music circus business. That was never her priority. I mean, underrated by herself, some inner shadow, which prevents her from recognizing the beautiful light that some of us are capable of seeing clearly from the outside. You can tell she’s really matured in all of her artistic visions, from the music itself to the colors in her outfits, her make up, her hair. It’s all still very Taylor and grungy, but elegantly so. Whereas in her older music videos it was a little more gritty , but it suited her then as this suits her now. Beautifully made video!

This does sound like a Bond song. At least in the soundtrack. Some expressions, the title, but especially the structure of the song. Taylor usually has a lot more grit in her vocals during song peaks, and this one she went with her more refined notes, but still very rock'n'roll. And the instrumentals felt more... not exactly "softer", but "intentional". The candence was what I'd expect from a Bond song. The chords in the end were 007 to the T! And the video itself, she felt veeeeery Bond girl, the outfits, makeup, the coloring, the sets. I'll be very surprised if this isn't in the next movie somewhere.

@@officialWWM its about how, even though you may want something, and no matter what you do to to try and keep it. Sometimes it just doesn't work and things fall apart anyway. This can be personal accomplishments, relationships, carreers, etc. Sometimes no matter how much we want something, it wasn't meant to be.

@@officialWWM with the music video, it made me consider that she's saying time was the thing influencing her intentions, but where she's at right now she feels like she's at a point where she doesn't know who she is and that she's broken like an hour glass and now there is nothing guiding her intentions, so now her opinions and intentions are all over the place.

Yeah, with the build up I was expecting full on belting (that she definitely could pull off) but this way makes it more interesting and it fits the song better probably. I like being surprised in songs.
