Yeah my youngest would untie that in a heart beat. Or years back I had one of those Velcro breakaway halters and the horse learned to lean into the halter just enough to pop it off. She got really good at it. She especially did it in the stock trailer. She liked to face backwards.

This looks like a good tie ring. I have a couple Blockers which are great. But I'd like a couple more for inside my trailer and might get these. The tie rings that are NOT worth it are the ones with the gigantic hook on one end, and a fairly small ring on the other end. Several trainers sell them and the problem is that the metal isn't polished, so many even synthetic ropes don't slide through them easily enough, plus the ring is just too small. This one has a nice large ring. If I get a couple, will update this comment.

As always, great functional information. Great advice Brad. Now I know what to do with those decenders that I no longer use.

Hi, thank u for this, its really helpful as im trying to make a safer place to work. About how much width space did you leave across from pole to pole? Im trying to figuer out how much is not too much or too small.

Any suggestions on how to deal with a horse who constantly rubs against you while in cross ties? I use blocker tie rings, which have helped with a lot of the stress behavior I’ve seen from my new mare while in ties. But the rubbing is absolutely obnoxious. Help!
