- WHAT A COMEBACK OMFG! Today's video is my (G)I-DLE - 'TOMBOY' MV REACTION and this is easily the best female idol fashion I've seen in 2022! That's a bold statement for a BOLD mv!
There has been so much buzz around (G)I-DLE's comeback since Soojin left the group and the girls' didn't disappoint. I've only previously reacted to Hwaa and this isn't the (G)I-DLE I know from back then wow. The power, the energy, the attitude. I am in love!

As a tomboy myself, people often think we can only wear certain clothes and cannot be seen wearing "girly" or "sexy" clothes cuz we're tomboys-?? Like, this song is a great example, they are neither wearing a girly-girl nor manly-man clothes or whatever that means. I can still wear anything I want, but my attitude or personality is forever tomboy. Thank you for this reaction! They really slayed this concept and their fashion here is just so refreshing in kpop.

Iâm also a tomboy who has become more feminine when I got older but I still prefer wearing grunge style outfits if not the top then itâs going to be the shoes.
The song means a lot because it lets me know that I can be a Tomboy without being boxed as a certain type.
The silhouette of suits are just SO CONVINCING. And when I saw that bleeding pearl choker I got chills- it is so on point, in terms of the storyline ALSO the rebellious message they want to convey âPearl (a symbol of elegance and etiquette) with blood (raw, beastly fierce, no hesitation to shred prejudices)â.
The whole comeback is ART.

The fact you immediately talked about Yuqi fashion-wise despite not being that familiar, just proves again that this is the Maknae line era. Maknae line pretty much refers to the youngest members in a group, Yuqi and Shuhua being the Maknae line of this group. Shuhua stepped up her game and she's such a vibe, and Yuqi just waltzed over everyone like a tank. The babies have come to slay.
EDIT: Just wanted to say that Soyeon always looks amazing and she always kills it. She's the best leader a group could ask for. She does not deserve the hate she gets.

And Soyeon gets hate because of the line distribution. K-POP is very misogynistic, and these girls are one the few girl groups who have a say in their music. Minnie started producing later on and Yuqi as of the single album before HWAA also started producing. In K-POP, the producing members often get more lines, which is kinda logical because A, its their own creativity that made the song so it will suit this member the best too and B, they deserve to get a little extra for the hard work they put into the album. Soyeon is the member who produced from the very beginning and every title track is hers because Minnie and Yuqi feel a bit more insecure and prefer producing the B-Sides of the album. Because of this, Soyeon gets a lot of hate in particular because of how often she gets to rap or in some songs, even sing, whilst Miyeon and Shuhua get less.
Shuhua stans such as myself are mostly cool with it. K-POP companies barely focus on language classes for foreign trainess, and when they debuted, Shuhua could barely speak Korean. Their debut song, she just had to repeat a line, but the song after that, she actually sang lines in Korean and she got so much hate for her accent that she specifically requested in their next release to only sing backing vocals. Hate comments ate her alive. So whilst recent Shuhua stans are upset, the ones like me who have been present since their debut are just happy to see her abilities improve and that she's slowly getting comfortable and rewarded with decent lines such as the B-Side Polaroid (Yuqi produced that one. Shuhua is the one other member who's comfortable with a deeper, husky range so obviously, something that is produced to go well with Yuqi's deep voice will fit Shuhua too. That is how this group picks their lines)
Miyeon stans are another story, unfortunately. She's a main vocal and those often get a lot of lines if not the most, in K-POP groups who don't have producing members. So a lot of those bash Soyeon, and to a lesser extent, Yuqi and Minnie because they get more lines. A lot are begging her to walk away from the group as they don't 'appreciate' her. Whilst Miyeon herself is happy. She actually was supposed to debut as the 5th member of BLACKPINK but decided against it, and the reason was the management. She's not comfortable releasing songs she's working on, but she has wanted to produce music for a while now, and she knew this wouldn't be possible in BLACKPINK. (G)I-DLE is kind of like her ideal group career-wise, but for some reason her own stans cannot accept that fact. They want more Miyeon, when everyone, both fans and members, are satisfied with the music we have right now.
Should look at their previous like oh my god, hann, dumdi dumdi, they always have different genre and style

Shuhua got an improved version of the pink outfit in the live stage, instead of the black singlet it has an extended layer.
I understand Shuhua doesn't like to show midriff so it's nice the stylist can accommodate it

people will probably hate me for saying this but so many of these outfits remind me of LISA! đ miyeonâs long fur coat looks exactly like the one lisa wore in her lalisa photobook! then miyeonâs puff sleeves reminds me of lisaâs solo teaser when sheâs sitting on the platform with the bandana printed outfit and the big puffy shoulders! and the massive SHOULDER PADSSSS UGHHHHH its giving LALISA

so a little observation from an insignificant flop(me).
(G)-Idle is pronounced without the "G" in English, and ă(ìŹì)-ììŽë€ăă(yeoja)-aideulăin Korean. ìŹì(yeoja) translates into "woman" in English. They removed the "(G)" at the very last scene where the word "queen" was crossed out and kept the word "Idle" on top. That was very clever for me because it ties to the message of the song which is "I'm neither man nor woman, and I don't care what people say".
That's a statement I would love to stick with.
edit: I looked at it closer, the (G) was there but at the back of "idle" crossed out as well.
