I'll be on the same flight back to my favourite island in the world soon enough..... and making videos although I hope that we'll be landing on runway 12 as I always book a seat next to the window to video the landing and the wind is generally from the east/south east. Air France or Air Austral?

Ca arrive de temps en temps quand les conditions météo donnent des vents qui sont inverse des habitudes. C'est vrai que ça fait bizarre de voir St André plutôt que le Port, ça m'a choqué aussi. Mais voilà, ça peut arriver héhé

Not at all, it's a French "département" (1 of the 3 levels of division below the national level in France) since 1947. France took possession of the island in 1638. Like Mauritius & Rodrigues, it is part of the Mascareignes Archipelago.
