  • The Complete Holy Bible - NIVUK Audio Bible - 07 Judges
    Read by David Suchet
Quick Summary of the book of Judges:
Joshua dies, and, almost immediately, the people begin to turn away from the God who had blessed them. Rather than driving out all the land’s inhabitants, they allow some of the Canaanites to survive, and the Israelites begin to worship the gods of the Canaanites. True to the terms of the covenant, God sends enemies to oppress His people. The suffering they endure causes them to repent, and God responds by sending leaders to rally the people and defeat the enemies, bringing peace to the land again. This cycle is repeated several times over a span of about 300 years.

May the Lord bless you as you listen to his word :)
    Have a blessed day!

Must remember that the 10 commandments and the law was only given and known by the children of Israel, the nations around were committing atrocities such as human sacrifices n particularly child sacrifices. That's why they played the drums to drum out the cries of the children. Without Gods law imagine how life would be

Dear Lord please tell the Israilites what they must do to find favor with you now in our time? What sin needs to be forgiven for you to clear the invaders from their country? Please Lord forgive our sins and let your blessings shine on all faces.I ask for Grace and Peace for all. Thank you Lord For hearing my prayers.Amen

i think it's probably because they rejected Jesus and didn't really believe he is the Messiah even to this day. when looking at the data, only around 2% were Christians in Israel. they're the chosen ones and they'd probably be the last ones to be converted..

"In those days there was no king in Israel. Everyone did as they saw fit." I didn't expect this book to be so gruesome, graphic, and just dark. 😭 this book is literally chaos. couldn't count how many times they turned to false idols 😭 and yet God still kept on forgiving them each time once they go back. the end parts though were pure chaos 😖

If you are paying attention at all you would realize that whomever authored Judges is saying this time period was not ideal for the Israelites, they are cycling between righteousness and ammorality and it shows in the stability of their society. Deborah is badass though!
