"Different in terms how she performs, but not in what she’s capable of. Skylar DeVault’s debut appearance at the 2023 CrossFit Games can only be described as surreal. The longtime fan of the sport is now a fresh-faced contender.
A mere two years of competitive experience prepared her for this week in Madison. Not that we noticed. The 24-year-old is ready-physically, mentally, and emotionally. (If anything, she says, she finds it comforting “to have an elite athlete like Justin [Medeiros] say he gets nervous.”) DeVault closes out her rookie year at the Games tonight. She currently boasts a Top 4 standing in the Upper Extremity Division.
