It's uncanny how on point Mumei is as the personification of Civilization:
- She is scatterbrained and has a tendency to forget things. (lost knowledge/history)
- Making decisions happens either in an instant or takes forever. There's no middle ground. (political decision making and activism)
- While she doesn't excel in any one specific activity like many of the other talents, just by her mere presence she always brings others together and motivates them. (cooperation and solidarity which define civilization)
- She likes to poke the bee's nest just to see what happens. Her default answer when somebody tells her she can't do something is "Watch me!" (human recklessness and defiance)
- On one hand she is wholesome and adorable and you would give everything to protect her - but on the other hand she can be extremely morbid and scary in a disturbingly casual way. Often at the same time. (stability & protection vs. war & cruelties)
- She doesn't put herself in the spotlight and her content is mostly based around her interacting with the medium or others, where she shines. (civilization necessarily needs multiple actors to exist)
That plays well into her lore too. She claims that - unlike the other Council members - she doesn't have any powers. I'd say her power is passively bringing people together and getting them to act. After all, a single person all on their own can't do much, but civilization as a whole has literally reshaped landmasses. And we already know of ways to expand that to the interstellar or even galactic scale. That _is_ an impressive power for some weird lanky bipedal species if you think about it...

While I agree with pretty much everything about this. But I might say that she's very at good singing, it's what she excel at and enjoy the most for streaming.
She even a bit of perfectionist if it's come to that, and can easily get frustrated when she can't reach what she's aiming for in her sing.
@@kirikachan3764 Oh, she is very good at it for sure. I only meant that she's not quite as proficient or focused on it as the likes of Suisei or IRyS. She's also a good artist, just not at the professional level of someone like Ina.

Mumei is one of the cutest crazy girls I've met. No wonder Kronii warned us about her after her debut. She's so off the wall, random, scary, innocent, awkward and funny all at the same time. She's definitely one whose streams I always want to catch to see what she does next.
Also 6:19 That's supposed to be Suisei, Fan. I'm not kidding. She came in chat and told Mumei that she was cute. So this is what she drew after that. It stands to this day as my favorite members emote I've seen any VTuber have yet.

When Council came out it was actually VERY hard to pick a fav. I mean at the end of the day theyre all freaking fantastic and we love every single one of them. I thought from debut Bae was gonna be my fav. But the more I watched Mumei she slowly climbed the ranks. I love that she's such an airhead (heh airhead) and her sparatic personality jumps from being cute asf, to being a stone cold killer in the game she's playing. Her, bae and Kronii are very very tightly next to each other as to who my fav is but I think Mumei wins it for me

The drawing in 6:22 was supposed to be Suisei. At this point during the stream she was thinking about who to draw and she decided to draw Suisei. But then Suisei appeared in chat and Mumei got nervous and drew that instead.

There are a few Holomems who are clever enough to fully weaponize their cuteness against both their fans and against other Holomems. Mumei is in the top three of that list, the only ones who are close are Gura and Chloe from HoloX. Mumei has enough genuine ditzy moments to be able to play dumb at incredibly opportune times, and takes a lot of pleasure in pushing other people's buttons (ESPECIALLY Kronii) while seeming completely innocent.

one of my fav cursed Mumei moments was the roleplaying in the Wolfquest stream. right after Mumei's wolf gave birth she asked if Gura is hungry and wanted to feed it to her. also Fauna wasn't in the game yet and went "don't eat the baby! without me!" kinda funny that mother nature just wanted to observe two predators doing their thing

What I love about Mumei is the vibe I get from her humor. She's got that same type of internet humor that Gura and Kronii both have, but it's encased in layers upon layers of deadpan dark humor. If Kronii's and Gura's humor was a hilariously cursed Garfield furry parody that they're both trying (and failing) not to laugh at, then Mumei's humor is beautifully hand-drawn Gorefield art that she just puts out there with a straight face. Add to that a fantastic singing voice and the fact that she rivals Ina when it comes to having the quick wit to basically turn any prank around on whoever's pranking her, and you got yourself some gold. Can't not love Mumei, man.
That's my favorite thing about her

Mumei is one of a kind, she somehow manages to exist at all times in a quantum superposition of the cutest thing to ever exist and total unhinged psychopathy and you never know which Mumei you're going to get. The duality is a huge part of what makes her so appealing, it's like reverse gap moe. She has quickly become my favorite in holoEN, and she is genuinely extremely talented at art even if she uses it for shitposting more often than not and her singing voice is the best in the whole EN branch when she really lets go imo.

Councils debut is so recent, yet they already have many amazing clips already! In the Coop puzzle game with Kronii at the end they had a descent into madness. Highly recommend to watch either the stream or that segment. It was just so funny!
It's been six months since their debut...
I think that particular art clip was probably the best possible first choice to show. It encapsulates her so well, the sweet innocent birb that has some sort of demons inside. Her art is always cursed and it's great. Also, a fun thing about that piece of art is it's an emote for her chat and they spam the hell out of it. Much like her content, her chat is cursed as well.
Her chat absolutely sends me every time, it's so unhinged. I just imagine how confused a new viewer would feel when they click on the adorable owl stream and the chat is just spamming psychopathic messages the whole time.

I find Mumei's art skills fascinating, most Hololive members draw in an anime style but i'd say Mumei was influenced by 90's/00's western cartoons and web art, monsters and creatures are her forte and her imagination is wild.
Gameplay isn't a strength on her channel, i don't know whether it's just because she hasn't found the right games yet and she does get motion sick, but she's unrivalled in Hololive when it comes to the "chaotic partner" role in collabs, she'll spice up any occasion and gets on well with everyone.
Like most of Council it seems she's very busy outside of streaming, i'm looking forward to seeing what they can get up to when they have more time in the future.
My theory is that she is more of a strategy and resources management gamer. My evidence is her presentation stream. She mentioned wanting to play Dawn of Man (a prehistoric management game).
Should do another episode with mumei where you go over the videos for those cute little comics that were made about her and civilization
Also, if Mumei gets glasses on one of her alt outfits at some point, or added onto her New Year's outfit like a lot of fanart gives her, I'm pretty sure that Fan will just straight up ascend to a higher plane of existence.

She’s easily in contention for cutest HoloMem, alongside Nenechi, Ojou, Orca, and Gura.
Once again, Council is one of the greatest gens we've been blessed with, and Mumei, just like her genmates, is definitely a great pick for favorite holomember.
We're used to the gap moe, having big and strong characters reveal a cute and/or girly side, but the opposite is much more rare : with Mumei we have the innocent smol owl that needs to be protected at all cost, except she's actually the greatest menace in the room, leaking haachama levels of darkness at the most random of times.
She actually has a whole lot in common with Korone, in both her design and personality, and I think Mumei is actually a big fan of Korone iirc, a collab between the two would be great.
So much cuteness & accursed...ness all rolled together.

During and after the recent EN off-collab, all the other girls were talking about how shy and cute Mumei was in person, and how much they love her. Kronii had to go to the desk for her to correct the order and ask for hot sauce and napkins, because Mumei was too shy. I think there's a Kronii clip called "My Owl Asked For No Pickles"
Note that in the streamer overdose game, Mumei was deleting all the chat msgs and later she started doing the same thing in Kiara's chat. Like Kiara's chat was just a wall of "message deleted" for a few minutes

Visually I have a thing for girls in adventurer's getup, but Mumei won me over with her natural adorableness; it leaves me locked into "must protecc and hug mode." Before HoloCouncil I did not have one I strongly called my oshi, but now I cannot wait to see what Mumei does next.
She can do some art, she has been gaining confidence in her singing, and she bounces off everyone very well when streaming anything else. She might not necessarily stand out with something extra special like we see with Kronii -holy moly her voice is damn smooth- but I cheer on Mumei simply for being herself, and isn't that why we all find someone to cheer for anyway?
