During the sexy time. That was Rick absolutely letting go of his trauma. He was so terrified and here was his soulmate making him complete again. He was centered once again. I loved this episode so much. I mean felt all that breathe taking emotion in my spine. Wow. Team #Richonne
I agree I think his former life at that moment finally became real to him and he started “feeling” again notice she had to bring him back by making him look directly at her and touching her heart

I don't think the "thank you" was sarcasm either. It was genuine, a thank you for saving her and a thank you for proving that part of the old him was still in there.
Rick did confirm on this episode that Michonne did indeed beat his kill record.
And they wouldn’t even need to change the name, only the number. 😁
That “thank you” from her was absolutely thank you for still being you somewhere in there. It wasn’t the least sarcastic. It was tender. He threw himself between walkers and her.
The cross examiner came out in Michonne with that "let me get this straight..." & that look. That was nothing but a lawyer y'all.
14:30, yes, I noticed their flirtation/chemistry this episode too. She brought Carl back comic books and Rick a razor for his face, which is a pretty personal/intimate item to get someone. And he was not pleased when she was talking about going out as far as Macon. People who say they don't understand or see the chemistry are nuts, because fans were talking about it as early as season 3 or 4 at Comic Con.
I’ve watched this episode 4 times in less than 18 hours.
3 times for me. I plan on watching again after work.

I love me some Richonne. This episode epic. The writing was phenomenal. The acting those two did the rawness the in deep details of struggles both went through mentally was displayed. Oh yeah, and another thing about Michonne that I forgot is that she had a son that died in the before times, so leaving her kids was a huge thing. So, I get why she definitely felt some kind of way when he didn't IMMEDIATELY say let's go home. I've lost a child and you've lost a child, and you can't muster up the courage to fight? Man! Lol.
The prison scene when Rick said, “must’ve been something else.” He was looking her up and down, checking her out. ( and that was season 3)
The “thank you” was sincere. It wasn’t sarcastic at all. She was seriously telling him to leave, and he refused because he loves her and would never leave her. His reponse was sincere as well. I think Michonne is unsure of Rick in that moment. That may have occurred before she asked him if he still loved her. Not sure why she thought he would leave her though.
Poor Rick had a whole panic attack during that love scene. I loved how she comforted him with his hand on her heart. ( I think it’s a hilarious idea that he had “finished” when he shuddered. Too funny. That poor man was panicking.😂)
Danai spoke extensively on how she researched PTSD and Trauma because she didn’t want thi# to be Just Another Copulation Scene.
What resulted was probably one of, if not THE most meaningful and intimate Love Scenes EVER depicted on TV.
I’m surprised people couldn’t see what was happening with him, and how *she* saw and recognized what was happening to him.
The way she looked at him, trying to hold his attention, and whispered “Hey…”
I don’t remember ever seeing this level of *initimacy* between a couple.
When she put her hand on her chest and held it there so he could feel her breathe and breathe with her. (A grounding technique.)
It was some Emmy-worthy work.
That love scene was connecting back to each❤❤
Rick was battling reality and dream Michonne ❤❤❤
The temperature was walking us through their emotions. “10 minutes until your desired temperature…”
Danai did that. Using a smart home as Greek Chorus. This is how a Playwright thinks. She isn’t a multi-award winning playwright for nothin’. 😁

I think the "thank you" from Michonne was genuine, but the "sorry" from Rick was sarcastic (when the walker's blood splashed on her). When they went bk to the room, she was still upset but both of them couldn't hold out any longer LMAO. These two ppl love each other so much, but 8 years is a long time to be a part. When Rick approached her slowly, it reminded me of season S7:E5 "Go Getters" when he was going on the road trip and she was still upset that Rick was willing to live under Negans thumb. In this episode Rick was feeling his way through a rough situation lol, but knowing Michonne. She loves this man way too much to not give in - especially since she hasn't felt his touch in soo long. I'm still surprised they didn't do it before the argument and then after the argument. The tension was there from the moment she found him - that is why they kissed every chance they got. It was just a way of releasing all that built up tension.
Yeah. Rick’s “sorry” was mostly, *oops. let me move away because she has a weapon*. He knew all that wasn’t necessary and that it was maybe little bit petty.
They don’t fight like that. Killing walkers can be messy, but the two of them working together is usually efficient and quick.
I can understand why the Lady at the bottom panel thought Michonne's “Thank you” was sarcastic, but if you notice Her breathing, it's still clear that Her lungs are affected by the Chlorine gas burns and that it was said in a laboured way without as much "oomf" behind it as She intended. I'm worried about Her...🥺

This was the most intimate sex scene. And when he started to have a panic attack at the most intimate moment, and she was there with him, reminding him. Also, the Bridgerton thing? She sent them clips of scenes between people who were obviously in love even while they looked to the world like they weren’t on the same page. They did NOT watch the Bridgerton sex scenes. She sent clips of dialogue for their writing, because they needed some insight on writing Romance. And TOWL is a Love Story.
The “thank you” was not sarcastic. She meant it genuinely because she would sacrifice herself for him too but also because his refusal to leave with her has caused her to feel unsure about him.
I could not believe who that man was in those moments. I knew the RJ reveal was coming & still Rick was on that bullshit. They had a way out & Rick was still on that bullshit. But Michonne's "goody bag" & that Carl phone .... BINGO!!! Once you go black, you don't go back even on TV!!!🤣💙 I couldn't wait to hear you ladies breakdown on 1X04 cuz I know y'all was excited as hell!

Every other time I’ve ever seen a scene like this, it’s about the Sex.
After the arguing, miscommunIcation, the close call in the stairwell, they let their barriers down and reconnect. Kudos to the actors, direction, cinematography because it’s shot *very* intimately.
Had it not been for the panic attack, it could’ve been just another Love Scene, yes it would be gorgeous and hot, but Danai didn’t want just that.
She made it a Love Scene that wasn’t just about the Sex. It was the revelation of a Wound. Rick’s Trauma. And afterward, the revelation of Michonne’s trauma as well.

It's unlikely the helicopter turned back around to search for them. Michonne likely yanked Rick out, over the lake, right before the helicopter flew into the building due to low visibility. They showed us, in one of the first scenes, the point of view from within the building, that the helicopter was flying very low over the lake, just before they jumped out.
Jadis isn't merely "petty." She's been sexually obsessed with Rick since she met him. That obsession would drive her to go after Rick, if not to bring him back, then to take his life so he's not happy without her.
A true bottle (or in this case, a box) episode. The building was a character by reflecting their temperament and de/ reconstruction of their relationship.
Maybe it’s Heath watching them. He basically vanished in a puff of smoke.🤷🏽♀️
I think Rick and Michonne are absolutely getting home to their family. The preview didn’t say they weren’t going home. Michonne said that’s “ not where the story ends.” I think that means they’re going home, but won’t be satisfied to stay safe with family. They’ll feel compelled to leave home together to stop the CRM.

“Thank you” was not sarcastic at all. Rick replied “You don’t ever have to say sorry to me”. He wouldn’t respond that way to sarcasm. The writing has to soften them a bit before they return time the apartment and wordlessly start becoming intimate. The writing has to set that up so no that “thank you” is not sarcasm.

I think it’s just the culture around TWD, it seems like the lines get blurred because they are very method oriented in their approach to storytelling in how they portray and act as the characters.
They were in the Rocky Mountains (Colorado) when they went to take on the Colums. So at the most they are driving from CO.
2nd season of World Beyond answers a lot of questions about Jadis and the CRM.
I really need to find time to go back and do a rewatch. I really did love that second season.
Three things:
I absolutely loved their arguments because they were so real.
I was mortified that they got in the elevator or a crumbling building. I will not be surprised if we see them dead in the elevator if there's not another season of this show.
I just find that e-car they found with all the fuel in the back seat totally suspicious. It was way too convenient.
It was an excellent episode. Kudos to both Andrew and Danai.
Did you guys catch what caused Jadis come looking after the crash? When that damn building was crumbling some it fell on that damn PRB & flipped the switch on. If you look closely you can see that little green light come on after some of the ceiling fell on it. Because we know Jadis is coming. Now we know who she was running off the road in the truck.

The kind of TY we see between two caracters that just met and one decide to save the other despite not knowing him/her. The biggest take away from all this discourse is that most people hating on michonne , seem to want the badass Rick but keep forgetting that one of the things that contribute to him (Rick) being badass is Michonne , she is brave ,intelligent , a badass mom , supportive and loving , she is not a classic maiden like Lori in all ways that makes her an equal partner to Rick , secondly Rick us always drawn strength and courage from her remember that season with Negan , Rick was literally terrified to fight till she convinced him to fight and in the end they won .
Plus people are so scared of emotional intimacy and vulnerability nowadays that when they see it through the lens of a powerful role they find it jarring and begin hating.

This entire show has a full of talented people. The cinemaphotography is beautiful, the film shots are interesting, the acting of course is really good, the scripts are so good, and so much more from this show that to me, oozes of filmmaking craftmanship. For me personally, I do want this show to be a limited miniseries only though with just its 6 episodes. And of course if the DVD comes out. Oh hell, it's going to be part of my DVD collection. I have to be honest. I haven't watched, fully, the TWD in years. So in a way, I didn't know much about the scar of Michonne's back for example. And I course knew about the Carl thing (never watched that episode either only heard it from many people). And I guess that is why I'm loving the show. I don't feel lost of where the characters' journeys are now in this world. No need to watch the previous shows to just get it. I just blindly just watching it and like what everyone is pretty much saying. I can feel the emotions coming out of the characters, their character journey (internal and external struggles), what the hell is the CRM doing, and yes, Jadius with the Shit hair gotta go. I little worry for Michonne during that walker fight scene (I mean I knew she wasn't going to go, but it felt like it though, the whole what if feel). And right there is how any good shows are able to pull you in. A thing I do want to note about Rick. Even though Michonne and Rick fell into the water and Rick being mostly wet for the episode, is some way of symbolism for Rick basically in the process of being reborn (you see Rick's hand only on the rocks and in a way, crawling to go up) and Rick being all dried the very last scenes of finding his old self again (with of course Michonne's help). I loved ya'lls discussions. And yes, It's time for them to have some time.

@KACEYGEMINI23 I agree, but the show is only 6 episodes, they have never mentioned a season 2, and in some interviews Danai, Andrew, and Scott Gimple have mentioned that they needed to give the fans a "climax" to the Rick and Michonne story. I HATE Scott Gimple because he was responsible for most of the deaths throughout TWD series, which in turn brought the downfall of the show upon us all!! I DO NOT trust him at all and would not be surprised if he kills one or both of them off! I will be PISSED OFF, but not surprised, lol!! I really do hope that I am wrong, but Scott Gimple is CRAZY and UNPREDICTABLE when it comes to this show!!

This is what I saw in the trailer. They were fighting new variants, one of them was hard to kill. That could be why Michonne, decided they could not go home. These new variants were some how contacted to the CRM.

This is my theory of what I believe the Echelon Brief is. They are either trying to make super soldiers out of the walkers or the Echelon Brief is really a form of brainwashing.

Morgan is going to Alexandria first. Because that is where he last saw Rick. He will find out about what happened on the bridge. That Michonne has gone to find Rick. That Judith and RJ are at the Commonwealth. He could leave the little girl he is travelling with there and go to look for them

Also, I don't think they will make it back to their children. Michonne mentioned how much RJ looks like Rick, but what child actor could they find to play that part? I think it was something easily said because the ending of this show will not see them reunited. OH LAWD, I HOPE I AM WRONG!!! Lol!! @cleogriffith9921 Right, as EP's they are involved in the process, but what process is that? The word is that Andrew Lincoln wanted to kill off Rick so that he could "move on". The other word is that Danai wants to move on as well to concentrate on her playwriting. So who knows, as EP's, if they did not agree to kill off Rick or Michonne to give the fans an ending to the love story? As I said earlier, I TRULY HOPE NOT, lol!! But at this point, I would not put a bet on the fact that they live happily ever after! ESPECIALLY with Scott Gimple involved, lol! He was the person who RUINED the show with his HORRIFIC writing!! I'm just keeping my fingers crossed!!

Because Jessie fits the 'type' he was expected to have in the old world, like an old habit.
You can be in love with someone and not realize it. He and Michonne at that point were already family, romance or no. So it probably didn't occur to him that what he needed was right under his nose all along. Jessie was someone new, fresh, and someone who did not know the "old" Rick, so he probably just thought it was a chance to get to know someone without all the baggage. I don't think that would have ever worked.
Jessie was pretty. I think Rick was attracted to the damsel in distress ( just like Lori) until he learned that the best relationships are built on friendship. That’s why what he has with Michonne is stronger and deeper. It’s not just a physical attraction.
He also told Carl, "this is different", which meant he knew already - after Day 1 - that this was unlike anything he'd had before.
