PURE THRILLS: The most spectacular roller coaster in Europe is being built

  • One of the most modern and extreme rollercoaster in the world is being built in Waldkirch in the Black Forest for the Belgian amusement park Plopsaland De Panne. Here, the cars rotate horizontally on a vertical axis. The complex ride requires 723 tons of material to be welded, transported and finally assembled on site - a logistical tour de force. For this, 98 track sections are created in a so-called truss structure, some of which are manufactured by hand.

    SO SO SO interesting!! I rode Time Traveler (Silver Dollar City) 5 times in a row and the whole dang time all I could think about (as I do on all roller coasters) was, "WOW! Someone DESIGNED AND BUILT this engineering marvel to run safely, smoothly and carry THOUSANDS of passengers daily! I feel a small tinge of guilt as I am thoroughly enjoying the fruits of their labor and don't want to take it for granted." Thank you, to the men and women who work so hard just so the rest of us can enjoy a 90 second ride! You are so talented and I can tell you are proud of your craft - as you should be. ❤
    I think I can speak on behalf of all coaster enthusiasts that we truly, truly appreciate your hours and hours of hard work and thank God for you!

    • @IroAppe
      @IroAppe Před 6 měsíci

      Have you seen the interview of Coaster Studios of the designers of RTH? They really didn't expect that it would turn out like "that". Riding it for the first time really was a surprise, and they said, that they thought they were at the limits of a spinning coaster like that, but now they know, that they can push it further.
      That's why the waggons have a magnet brake in the base, because they wanted to keep control, to dial the extremeness in, in case that it would be too heavy, because they really didn't know how it would turn out. But now it runs with the brakes turned off, the magnet only is used for a gentle push at the beginning, but then not anymore.

    Of course the park operator wants the ride open as soon as possible to make greed happen. So a roller coaster costing 17.5 million euros, the cars alone costing 6 million euros. Only 20 workers assembling the entire track system with help fro AI robots, Polish workers assemble the track on site to reduce costs. Some how tax evasion is playing a huge part in the construction, all that steel, construction work, ground work, magnetic launch system, so many cables and electronics, machinery etc. No way all this work only costs 11.5 million euros. Safety and schedules do not mix well, greed is all that matters to these mega projects around the world.
