- I'm really just putting myself out there lately, huh?! Welcome to PART 1 of a new basement series! Today we are working on a MASSIVE declutter!
In this new series we are heading down to our basement! We have plans to create home-gym, home office, AND studio apartment space for guests! Things escalated quickly when we decided to rip up the sticky, glued down, laminate plank floor tiles. We were full steam ahead and moved everything from the office into the living room and everything from the guest room to the living room. We then realized that the floor was NOT budging! The only spots that came up were the places that it was bubbling up already. The project was put on hold, but now that we have guests coming this week, I need to find the bed! Come along as we create a studio apartment, home gym, home office, and seasonal decor storage room!

I absolutely do NOT enjoy Christmas in July. I like to enjoy summer 100% and Christmas is NOT part of my summer.
Yes love the movies in July I think come Christmas I’m so busy getting ready for the event don’t always get to watch everything . It’s also hot so it’s kinda nice to see cold .

I don't have an opinion on Christmas in July however I'll tell I sure as heck ain't decorating bahahshaha. And OMG, thank goodness for your quick reflexes!!!!! Hopefully you didn't hurt anything by getting out of the way so fast. I was trying to move treadmill to a dif room one time and idk what I did but moved it in such a way that the spring lock moved and the legs shot down and got my feet. Couldn't feel them for a few mins but luckily just bruises n scrapes nothing broken. Good times! That is what it reminded me of watching you move the equipment. Lol

Yes it is!!! Not easy to move around at all. I tried to donate/sell the arm press machine thing and my husband reallllly wanted to keep it. With how much of everything else I'm getting rid of, I figured I needed to compromise 😅

@@carolynoquinn4573 it really is!! My family doesn't like to get rid of things, so I really need to focus on not bringing in as much. I heard someone say that "you need to ask yourself if it's worth the hassle of getting rid of" before you buy/bring it in. That definitely resonated with me!

Question, when you purge and donate, where and how to you bag or box up the stuff? Like trash in bags I guess but donate stuff? Where do you put the piles as you finish/work on it?

I use black garbage bags for most everything! Especially donating so no one in my house can see what I'm putting in them! 😂 I will use amazon boxes for glass and things that can't be bagged up. I typically put things directly into the trunk of my car when I get done with a big decluttering project. I also have a basket under my entry table for the times I just need to throw a single item or two like a shirt, cup, etc in a donation pile. No one ever goes through the baskets, so it's a safe place that I know will be left alone and not brought back out. I hope this helps!

You have MORE JUNK in that room than I do in my whole 11 room house. 😂 I have decluttered for 4 yrs and I DON'T or hardly remember what I've got rid of. I think, what I'm seeing is that you're moving things from one corner to the next corner. Out the door is the BEST solution.
I call this my DOOM room 😅 “didn’t organize, only moved” we emptied out both our guest room and our home office and put everything in here. I just finished working in there again and I made soooo much more progress. It feels good to get rid of so much!

@@Brandi44-m4p I lnowwwwwwwww 😭 parts drive me insane! With these bigger projects like the basement and garage, it’s so hard (and overwhelming for my squirrel brain) to edit a video with that much footage. I end up shutting down and then I don’t get a video out at all 😆 I just got done working in there again so I’m going to try and get the next part out soon!

On your video 2 days of fall cleaning you show your secretary. Get some old english at any store. It will be with the furniture polishes. It will hide all the scratches on the inside of the secretary. Wear gloves it will stain your fingers.

I don’t know how you keep creating a room filled with a disaster and living within it-especially with kids!!! You are your own worse enemy!!! And, I mean this from my heart not in a judgy-way!!! You clean one room or area but create a huge mess in another!!!
This is my basement… We don’t live down here.. Nor do we live in my garage.. My kids don’t live in a disaster. This mess is because we’re redoing the floors down here and we’ve moved two rooms of stuff into this space.
