The thing is, if you go to the Philippines there's actually a lot of kids who can sings like her but they are poor and doesn't have access to competitions outside the country.

And there's no lying about her on the official Kpop star FB page... you can see certain contestants repeatedly posted ad promoted on the page.
Reason is because K-pop star isn't about how well you sing only. It's literally it the title, they are looking for a star. Yes, good vocals is needed, but also ability to move the judges(audience), making the song your own, a unique voice, being soulful, charming, etc. The criticism were fair. In the second round, she was probably nervous becuase it was awful imo, she made so many basic mistakes. Luckily, even though she was last, she passed. The judges also look at how much potential the contestant had. If they judged her based on that performance alone, she would eliminated; not just on kpop star, on any other program
It was unfortunate she did not make it pass the bootcamp - this powerful rendition of the song deserved a live show exhibition - I hope Erin returns next year!
I used to think Melanie Amaro did it for me. I was so touched with the raw talent and emotion they put into the song that I cried. Now I have Melanie Amaro and Erin Miranda on the list! Very inspiring ..

She has an excellent voice and amaaaziiing control. I was astounded by the way she held those long notes then quickly followed by another long note. She definitely has an excellent vocal colour & personality and able to express her emotions with merely her pure voice and does not need to over emphasize the facial expressions. Her pitch is on the higher side as her voice has not fully matured at just 15, but I have no doubt for this to get darker and heavier as she gets older. I think she's really great! Job well done! Go Erin don't listen to the negative people. You have people supporting you here.

what really blew me off is that great control of her voice... very clear.. very pure.. and the way she hits the notes quite precisely is just stunning.. i agree that she has a high pitch and that song is actually more on the alto side.. but her voice is very pure!! and not to mention she is just 15!! more years to come and a lot of potential to master her voice.. she lacks vibrato but that's okay.. some may have vibrato but it is very hard to control sometimes.. it still stuns me on how she manages to control her voice and using that song displays perfect control!! and btw, is she Filipino??? hehe

Wow, I've listened to about 10 to 15 from 2014 Australia Xfactor, and they were pretty much all just fantastic, so it's so hard to pick just one. She is definitely in the mix.

When I first saw this episodes of x factor Australia I was surprised that like Iren Miranda, Marliza Punzalan, Mary Ann Vanderhorst and many others were contestant that have Filipino ancestry! Great potential there, but she needs a few more years, ( 2-3 years ) , under her belt due to her slightly high pitched teenager voice. Compare her to 17 year old Louisa Johnson who won this years UK X factor to see what I mean. She sets the bar very high with her voice, looks, stage presence and just very likeable personality. Its the whole package that's necessary to be successful in this cut throat business.
true erin would be even more amazing with a few more years. but also, in my opinion...louisa's voice is very soulful but nothing that special... these days its always the soulful powerful voice and thats the trend everyone seems to follow :/ dont get me wrong tho, louisa's voice is still amazing
