I think Nami forgave Jimbei the right amount. For one thing, she recognized his relationship with Luffy and likely the fact that he was there for Luffy when she was unable to, so that probably played a factor in Namiâs forgiveness. Moreover, Nami had a lot of reconciliation with fishmen during the Sabaody arc via Caimie and Hachi, to the point where she was willing to trade all their treasure to save Caimie from slavery, and was visibly upset by Hachiâs treatment in the auction house.
I mean that's her not being a racist towards fishmen just say the first part and your golden though.
@@Dash-lx4ng not exactly, hatchi was one of Arlongs main officers, so it shows a good amount of forgiveness from her during the Sabaody archipelago
Jinbe's whole deal was trying to stop the cycle of hatred. The Luffy vouch is really what won her over so fast. She knows he stepped in to protect Luffy while they were scattered and that Luffy thinks very highly of him. Once he explained, she saw the truth that Jinbei really never wanted that to happen.
Shanks doesnât have to be evil, to be the final boss. He could just battle Luffy in an honorable duel, like he did with Mihawk...
yeah I do think that it would be a full circle moment for Luffy to fight Shanks at the end given it was Shanks who inspired him to become a pirate in the first place. Same for Usopp and Yasopp
The most peaceful way I can see the redhair pirates vs the strawhats would be the Davy Back Fight

Haki is like a necessary evil in OP
Logia DF were op pre timeskip, so Oda needed to add something to nerf them.

@@guitarmaxxeri dont mind that everyone CAN learn it, but i dislike, that everyone HAS to learn it, to stay relevant, as its the meta of the new world
@@proclarushtaonasat very true, it was definitely an afterthought by oda, but it's not absolutely necessary per se, the best examples are law and kid, we've seen law use haki only a few times and only conquerors in case of kid, but it kind of makes sense, the surroundings of the new worlds are as dangerous as the pirates, it wouldn't be a shock if many learnt observation during avoiding storms or whatnot
I mean with Shanks losing his arm, I kind of just chocked it up to being a time issue. Like with all the strength in the world, someone can still have non-optimal timing and get their arm bit off trying to save someone. Don't know, never really struck me as odd, even now.
Please re-watch Mihawk talks to Shanks. I beg of you.... He literally explained why he sacrificed his arm, and it literally involves Luffy and the New generation of the pirate era

We have seen different versions of One Piece, if you saw Arlong intimating with Zoro's scar
@@zyrkugilgamesh , Arlong was intimidated by Zoroâs scar because whenever he saw that Zoro was cut by the worlds strongest swordsman and didnât die, and him seeing that Zoro didnât bitch about having a scar thatâd kill most ordinary people that arenât from the Monster Trio he was surprised that Zoro didnât bitch about the pain he got from Mihawk, and he was intimidated because Zoro was the first human that Arlong has met that has monstrous strength.
Law is so broken that Oda literally has to forget some of Law's abilities just to make it fair. That's one of the biggest plot hole for me.
But in dressrosa he got pieced by doflamingo cuz his halo was stronger ig
You can physically see it being nerfed in Wano where Law has to physically slash opponents like Hawkins in order for it to take effect. Compared to before where he just slightly moves his hand and it cuts people.
@@qorso also him having the only df so far besides bartholomew whoâs energy runs out while they fight. Thatâs a big nerf for both op devil fruits
I agree so much
Could you imagine the damage he could do if he just swapped luffy with bigmom when kaido did his boro breath? Or when kaido was doing the thunder bagua? His fruit is so op like he can do so much. Even getting zero to take a full 100% power Enma strike to himself and switching with kaido last second would wreck kaido. Too op of a fruit that oda has to nerf it
Thriller Bark was the funniest arc in One Piece for me
Which is fitting because it's right before the Marineford saga
*Apparently an unpopular take as a long time fan:* haki is really amazing, it enhances the fights on every level for me, it doesnt feel like a spontanious fix by oda to nerf logias to me I think it was thoroughly planned and foreshadowed for a long, long time and I'm very happy/excited about its inclusion
Thank you haki has made one piece equal devil fruit are creative but thereâs a limit to it because of the hire achy
It was foreshadowed in the very beginning with Shanks saving Luffy lol
haki just makes one piece as generic as any other manga about power (Bleach, Dragon Ball, etc) it just lose the unique of the fruits.
It hasnt been foreshadowed. Characters literally didnt even know it existed, so for Crocodile the only weakness was water for example
People thinking that Haki appeared on the first volume with that Shanks stare are delusional
Hot take: Shanks was so drunk while saving Luffy, that's why he lost his arm. And then after having his arm ripped off, because of the adrenaline and sea water, he sobered up.
This might just make sense
May be he deliberately did it to inspire luffy or something like that
Yeah that's also why he didn't feel the pain. He was completely hammered.
@@shubhamprasad5709 more likely it was just so last min and close he HAD to sacrifice his arm
Why didnât he haki up his arm at least? Or use conqerors earlier. It makes no sense
Iâve read somewhere that Oda never intended for Shanks to lose his arm. An editor suggested to put that in because he thought that otherwise the flashback wouldnât be impactful enough.
For me, I was very invested from the start of the show.
Probably because I started quite late and already knew a lot of the main plot points to come, so even before Arlong Park, I was pretty much just excited to see whats coming (Even if I did know it all already, including some pretty huge spoilers that I couldn't avoid due to starting so late, but even then I don't actually mind having known those spoilers).
I like both devil fruits and haki. These two power systems complement each other very well, in terms of the types of progression they afford. It was different very early in the series, but now that the Straw Hats need to contend with more and more powerful individuals, devil fruits seem to be agents of horizontal progression, whereas haki and the mastery of the self seems to be more or less vertical progression. In a sense, I think haki was introduced to show milestones of mastery and power in a way that devil fruits couldn't, and also to provide the setting with 'ceilings' for the characters to bust through.
Haki's trash, Sword fighting is the real counter balance for the non devil fruit users

It's already been said that Law gets tired from every use of his powers. That is why he constantly saves it in hopes of using it full on the last fight. Also it will deal a heavy blow if he misses any of his attacks because he'd be losing energy, time and chance for every attack. So that is why he doesn't take every single chnace he gets due to him being hesitant and not sure if he will be accurate
Hot Take: Shanks had been around Buggy for so long that he forgot what dismemberment is

Crazy Theory, The Dave Back Fight Arc was the first and best time Zorro and Sanji worked together effectively. It strengthened the entire crew by showing them what they would lose and reminding them what they built along the way.
I strongly disagree with the guy who said Nami forgave Jinbe too easily. Sheâd been grappling with her grudge towards fishmen who wronged her for two years since Sabaody with Hachan (who was even directly involved in hurting her). Even then, she didnât forgive him for nothing, she did it to heal and move on with her life.
Agreed. She also forgave him due to the fact that without those events she wouldn't of met Luffy and become a SH.
So there's a silver lining.
"The only one I hate is Arlong"
That pretty much summed it up. Nami might have still been upset at Hachi but she really only hates Arlong. And now knows that it wasn't a simple case of just letting him do whatever he wanted from Jimbe's side.
This is stupid. she was okay with hach san who worked under Arlong at sabaody. She didinât had any reason to be pissed about jinbe. It wasnât his fault that Arlong turned out to be the one he became.
I agree yea. A few things (some mentioned in above replies)
- Nami forgave Hachi, who was right there next to Arlong, forgiving Jinbe isn't a stretch
- Jinbe saved Luffy's life like 8 times at Marineford lmao
- Jinbe wanted to keep an eye on Arlong, but the corrupt Navy didn't report the details of the atrocities he was committing
I'm gonna be honest nami is the last person I wanna here forgiving people with all the messed up shit she did I understand her past but nah last person hands down
Even if Shanks isnt the final villain i hope that him and luffy do have an epic showdown
I always find the Shanks argument of 'One Piece wasn't intended to go as long as it did so power creep made Shanks loosing an arm look worse in retrospect' to be weird, because you hit that level of power creep at the very start when Luffy punches that same monster. At that point in the story, it is indicating that Luffy is stronger than Shanks was when he faced the lord of the coast. Sure, it gets ever worse as we continue to advance power and such, but even at that early point it seems weird that Luffy is so much stronger than Shanks was at that time.
Yes shanks was never meant to be this strong and overpowered yonko with apparently the greatest haki in the verse who's respected by every pirate in the world and even the marines and the WG.... at first he was just supposed to be a random pirate who inspired luffy to go on his journey.
I thought that was pretty obvious.

â@@cond.oriano3264 I feel like it has been downhill since post timeskip, not after enies lobby. No, Nami is the ship's navigator and Usopp is a competent handyman that was able to repair the Going Merry and make useful weapons/tools like Nami's staff. If Usopp didn't build that staff for Nami during the Alabasta arc, she would've been easily killed. Vivi was virtually worthless to the Strawhats, and didn't possess any substantial combat abilities or provide any sort of utilities for the crew, such as Sanji being the chef or Chopper being the crew's doctor. Vivi may have been able to serve as a sort of "tour guide" while traveling through Alabasta, but going forward in the journey, she'd be dead weight. She'd be the equivalent to a self-insert character in a fan-fiction...
Vivi could be the diplomat for strawhats since she's well versed with dealing with nobles. Currently Robin nor Nami can't do that since they're already blacklisted.
@@wilhelmpaulm they're pirates they don't need a diplomat

Shanks being the Final Villain sounds interesting at first but it's the type of plot line that can literally destroy the entire manga if it isn't done right.
It's the kind of thing fans who aren't writers think would be cool, because they don't actually work through all the problems the scenario would create both narratively and tonally for the whole series. A plot twist just for the sake of having one, not thinking about what happens after.
@@JoelBurger The longer I remain an anime fan the longer i realize how BAD fans are at... well......writing shit. They want twists for the sake of twists. Think writing "realistic" things make them compelling etc etc. An example a character backtracking on his development at any given moment is _"realistic"_ sure, because people fall to old habits.... but is it compelling? *NO.* It's repetition and flies in the face of established arcs. Usually for a relapse in fiction there needs to be an inciting incident and that inciting incident needs to be compelling. I despise that Usopp keept backsliding into his old bullshit for no fucking reason. I'm glad Oda cut it out after Dressrosa. but these be what fans defend - because fans don't care for what makes something well-written.
It ties into the reason i hate a lot of modern anime/manga. It's derivative and not much thought placed into it. So much modern anime is just glorified fan fiction. But here's the sad truth - if what you make is glorified fan-fiction, *then 99.9% of the time the original is better* Likewise people want to make something "unique" but don't have passion for what they build. Modern shows are derivative of pop culture. Older series are life-observations. Miyazaki films are observant. Kon films are observant of life. Evangelion is observant of life before its a love letter to mecha series. One Piece is an observation of life.
Just my thoughts. Sorry for the rambling.

I always viewed Shanks giving up his arm as a lesson for Luffy. Rogers never ran from a fight and put the crew in sticky situations. So Shanks taught Luffy that people get hurt, when you act selfish.
Its a plothole. because it was featured in a one shot manga before one piece was publicized. Oda never thought one piece will be this long and this successful. Oda made a lot of inconsistent power level throughout the manga if you pay attention. For example, a 30m bounty luffy beat a sichibukai, who is supossedly one of the three great power that maintain the balance of the world. If you read the manga again, you will find luffy had countless power up after his fight with crocodile and there are so many people stronger than him. so how the fuk did crocodile even join sichibukai when he was that weak that rookie luffy managed to beat him without haki?

After the crocodile arc, luffy had at least 10 power ups before the marineford arc, while crocodile remain in prison. but luffy was beaten left and right by everyone in that war, and crocodile somehow fight diamond jozu and doflamingo. how did crocodile become so strong he can fight jozu and dofla because 30m bounty luffy would get one shotted in that war. the amount of inconsistencies in this manga is a whole another level compare to other mangas like naruto and bleach. but brainwashed fanboys dont want to admit it.
I feel that Haki was just created because Oda felt he wrote himself into a corner with Logia fruits. It's also hard to constantly come up with new, interesting fruit abilities, that don't feel like simple re-hashes of old abilities.
Lmao. Did you just say Oda wrote himself into a corner? The man is called Goda for a reason.
Haki was introduced soooo early in the series though. It is only armament hardening which you could probably say was not planned since it first showed itself at end of enies lobby with garps fist of love. In fact ryuo and observation haki have shown themselves early in the grandline saga
Haki was fairly foreshadowed early in the series.
@@bongcloudopening5404 I apologize, I more meant armament Haki being a kind of Deus Ex Machina, not Haki in general. Thought it was gonna be just another Shonen or some kind of action story but even that early on there was a surprising amount of depth. Made me go from reading it at the recommendations of others to reading it because I cared about the crew.
There are times I hate ussop but he really does come through in the end

I was rewatching one Piece again recently, just got to somewhere around midway of Thriller bark. But damn, when Merry showed up and they jumped down into the water, I was f**king crying. Even more so when they burned it. I swear that scene becomes harder and harder to not cry to the more you watch the show.
I'm reading over the manga for the fifth time I'm at the start of enies lobby
@@caseybaxta7020 Yea, I have watched all of One Piece like 5 times, first time was like 11-12 years ago when Thriller bark was current. Been rewatching it like every other year since, currently on my 6th run or so.
Honestly Thriller Bark has some of the best comedy in the series
@@drty09brd Thriller bark is great
Yâall, Usopp is not Sogeking and Pirate King Buggy are the âKono Dio Daâ of the One Piece fandom
What about Kon D. Oriano
Hi new member here just finished the Thriller Bark Arc
One Piece artstyle helps readers/viewers to dive in in One Piece world, and thats something pretty underrated.
Nah it prevents people from even giving it a shot
@@ondrejmachovsky2654 If someone doesn't want to read because of the art style, they are very unlikely to actually like the story.
It's a fantasy world, and the art style not only gives this sort of unique world feel, as it also distinguish one piece of other animes.
It makes the story more detailled.
I prefer it over the same characters designs.
I'm not gonna lie , One piece pulled me in chapter 1
I felt nothing when the Merry died is such a weak mindset
this comment confuses me, did you mean to put "I felt nothing when the Merry died" in quotations?
Honestly I didnât either. Maybe Iâm
Just getting older, but I cringed a bit when Merry Magically showed up at Enies Lobby.
The thing with vivi is that people like her personality and the way she feels with the crew. Just like the crew themselves, not everybody sees the world in a black and white of whoâs strongest or would win in a fight. If you wouldnât want vivi in the crew purely because sheâs weak then youâre also probably one of those people who obsessed over which anime characters can beat who, and freak out when it isnât Goku
I think one of the problem of Haki is that DF user can utilize it, If its only reserve for Non-Df user it makes much more sense like if Haki need very intense or harsh training while DF is instant power
âIâve been hearing the joke for literally almost 15 years. I think that we can do better. In fact, I know that we can do betterâ
You Sir, have FAR too much faith in our collective sense of humor
I've never cried because of One Piece but i've gotten emotional quite a few times.
Lol
you're a monster!
man i was laughing so hard when ace died
Hello, new member here. Great video, I'm liking all of your videos I've just watched so far. I started with the One Piece anime in 1999 and stuck to it and only recently started reading the manga. Honestly I'd have never known about One Piece if not for the anime so others can hate on the anime over the manga all they want. One thing I like about the anime over the manga is I can follow the fight scenes better. I find the fighting in One Piece after Long Ring Long Land arc hard to follow (though that's true for any manga) and just don't care about the action much in general for any anima/manga. I'm in it for the characters, worlds and other things. Since fights in One Piece are so long I don't like to take the time to try and imagine/figure out what's happening, I just want to get to the end result. Mind you I'm not saying the fighting in One Piece is bad, I'm just lazy about following it because no action/fighting scenarios & the action genre has ever interested me in the moment. One Piece is a delightful oddball choice for me in more ways than one. Thing is One Piece has always been more than fighting and that's why I liked it. If there's one thing I dislike about post time skip One Piece, it's how action focused it is so I welcome anything lighter like it had before even if it's only for a second. At this point it's not enough for me to stop watching/reading One Piece. Unlike when I boycotted the series for at least 5 years after a certain character died.
Admittedly I watch very little anime/manga in terms of number of series but from the very beginning, few things have made me laugh so much, made me so angry, or cry as much all at once as One Piece. I've loved the series from the start. Yes even before Baratie.
after several great videos hi
it's such a tragedy youtubers are rallying for characters like woopslap. when gaimon is literally the meaning of one piece.
Actually a valid case he is a person in a treasure chest how I see it
1. The treasure Luffy is after is one that defies expectations
2. He reinforces the importance of nakama and them being the true treasure worth sacrificing for
3. He was discovered only by the sheer spontaneity of Luffy and Usopp referring to the general adventure of One Piece with and how Oda continually defies and exceed expectations.
Good point đ
Nami has potential to do so much with her staff but of course all that creativity was thrown out the window after her one fight with soapy girl lol
tbh we can all return to the 'devil fruit only' glory days when we witness a battle between people with relatively equal will power.
Then there will be no way for Luffy to beat Akainu or Aokiji. Blackbeard on the other hand would be defeated by just punching him long enough until he eventually falls since physical hits don't go through him.
Devil fruits have never been a balanced system itâs pretty scary how unbalanced it was the best instance of a weak devil fruit been a problem was in enrols lobby with the help of the soru and the other techniques
I was literally hooked on One Piece after the first 3 episodes.... Does this mean I have low standards or do I have incredibly good taste?
It means you have a good sense of humour :)
Both
At first I wasn't really hooked on the show. It was just something for me to watch after my day at highschool. I just wanted to see where the story was going. I didn't really get hooked on it til the Arlong arc.
And heck a persons likes what they like đ
@@spider-fighterdenoir6266 at those times, a lot of manga are better than One Piece, i never take One Piece as serious Manga before Arlong Park.
You should know that when Ace visited Shanks to thank him for saving Luffy, SHANKS HAD BOTH ARMS
thats the first thing i looked for with aces backstory
Probably just an animated/manga mistake where they forgot to draw him with 1 arm.
That was a drawing error
Obviously a continuity error since we know Shanks lost his arm when Luffy was a kid and Ace set sail when Luffy was older lol
Fine, I'll subscribe... you work so hard to make creative ways to ask.
Welcome aboard! :D
Love you vids
It's not that smokers weak, it's just that he's recognised as strong enough that losing to someone matters. 2 in that list include the OP Law and the arc end boss doflamingo
I agree. Smoker's only weak compared to the series endgame characters; which makes sense for a vice admiral.
Sure luffy, zorro, sanji, and jinbei would crush smoker now. But none of the other straw hats can beat him (except maaaaybe Franky, but probably not)
Very accurate
@@Weaponator18 I promise you if they all knew tashigi levels of amrmament haki they would all beat smoker. Brook is stronger than him for sure. Robin has a broken DF. Smoker is losing to monster point. The only one he could beat is probably Nami
They really need to level smoker up if heâs to be Luffys garp because dad to say luffy would destroy him without needing gear 4th. We havenât seen him fight in awhile so maybe heâs leveled up. I really do think they could add more variety to smokers devel fruit besides just using white blow and flying with the smoke. He technically should be able to make smoke clones of himself, make smoke animals or even a smoke zone that depletes all the oxygen similar to caesars attack. He should be able to do essentially the same stuff that morel from hunter hunter can with his pipe
@@mrsplashman8308 Ah it looks like you misspelled Ussopp there, and replaced him with Nami... Rookie mistake but passable đ€đ€Ł
Y'all realize with the sheer quantity of readers that One piece has, atleast 1 almost braindead person is still going "Man I hope we see Sogeking again".
Honestly when it comes to the haki situation I feel like it was a necessary plot device because devil fruit powers were getting out of control like how could someone fight a person made of Magma or Light wen all they can do is stretch like rubber? Although haki has taken the front stage in the New World things are different from Paradise, ppl need to be stronger in order to survive so those that sit ontop of them as emperors need to be kinda op in order to keep up with the grand story being told
Not sure if this is an unpopular opinion, but these videos are some of my favorites we see from Liam

The plot hole i see is how characters who should be dead are somehow alive
Yeah, thats honestly my only real issue with one piece. It's annoying as Well because it Takes a way so much suspense and the fear of a character dying.
Oda pretty much use that logic for more suspense now....
"Oh.. Vergo and Monet is not gonna die. Its One Piece lol"
I mean Pell stayed alive only because of 9/11 bombing. Pell isn't a significant character either.
Like, Oda has actually killed off people. He killed off Moria, killed off Pedro, Killed off Ace, Killed off Vergo and Monet, Killed off Whitebeard etc.
Should Luffy be dead? I mean yea. The only plot armor Luffy got was Marineford and you can maybe argue Crocodile. It took him 3 tries to realize that Blood was the answer.
Its not so much as plot hole. Its plot armor.
@@hashiseasin829 Moria is still alive
And the whole pell 911 thing is just a big fan rumor there's no evidence of oda ever saying that
Plus the problem people have is that oda sets up a death scene like we're suppose to care and the characters show up unharmed
Bandages
The scene in Arlong Park where Luffy puts the straw hat on a crying Nami is what sold me. I was in tears and itâs one of the most badass scenes in the manga. Been a massive fan of it ever since.
i literally cried out loud when the merry died, very emotional.
I feel like Oda is somehow gonna do something to make it seem like Shanks losing his arm is part of his grand scheme of making Luffy a pirate.
It was confirmed by Oda in an interview that Shanks was never supposed to lose his arm, however the producers wanted him to make something more tragic happen in Luffy's backstory to draw more people in to a manga that had basically JUST started. He didn't have much say back then compared to the producers but at least instead of a dead Shanks, we only lost an arm!
For me I liked One Piece as a cool, fun, and unique show. Like it was good and I liked it, but once I got to Arlong Park it jumped up to be in my top 3 favorite shows. I liked One Piece the entire time, but after the walk to Arlong Park scene with overtaken playing in the background I was in love.
I was in love with one piece when Zoro got his swords. My 9 year old self was obsessed with swords and there was a man who had 3. So the obsession began lmao
Haki is one of my favorite power systems! It evens the playing field against logia and allows for more interesting fights and applications of devil fruit! Gear 4th wouldn't be possible without haki and it's my favorite gear of Luffy so far!
Yeah, I don't understand the haki hate. Is it as good as nen or stands? No. But the synthesis between haki and devil fruits makes a good system.
My main question to haki haters is how would luffy "beat the series" without it?
@Wemple I agree with that wholeheartedly. The ace vs smoker fight on alabasta is where it became clear to me that there needed to be some workaround to logia fruits.
@@Weaponator18 if somehow u ask how can luffy beat akainu ass, then id try to answer it.. (using maybe a little bit too much but its still kinda logic).. how about luffy using fusen and blow akainu to the sea or maybe make him less hot and then punch him ? or even with nami help (she could control weather, esp electricity).
how about kizaru? i think brook can help to handle him, since brook skill is weight on ice and sound (like the kid betrayer, i forgot the name, the other one than hawkin). i might think brook can help luffy to handle kizaru. or at least, ussop / franky, can find the way to make a certain weapon to defeat him, and this is how to outshine a character who is not the big 3 on the group.
what doesnt make sense is, bcs suddenly haki step over the uniqueness of df skill. thats how it is.. remember when enel vs luffy? yep he couldnt hit luffy with thunder, but he still use another way to manipulate his electricity. and thats how i (or some of haki haters, used to love one piece).
though for me i just dont like armament, not rly hate, maybe if oda make a time limit and not have to make it turn into different color on armament, like rayleigh vs kizaru, i might still okay with it.
Gear Fourth couldâve happened without Haki
It just wouldnât have looked as cool or have been as tough
@@zombieguy4444 it wouldn't have the black markings and stuff and Luffy in general should be weaker without his haki
Gear 4 is "Muscle Balloon" from what i remember, which should be a natural "next" step to Gear 3("Bone Balloon") though i think it should be a bit too dangerous for Luffy to play around his body like that, at least without being able to harden over his body with haki, imagine if somebody popped him
Prime Whitebeard would solo the admirals.
*Change my mind.*
Lol even old age dying whitebeard almost soloed the admirals
@@chegu613 Nah, not really. He fought them all individually, and left them all still ready and willing to battle. Akainu even walked away from their solo battle relatively fine, while Whitebeard had a cooked chest and an opened skull.
Prime Whitebeard is a beast, yes, but Marineford Whitebeard did no such thing as "nearly solo the admirals".
Wasn't it confirmed?
He solos the whole world God dammit! He can destroy the world
Lmao he could not fight even for 3 hours
Can you do a video on haki vs Nen?
I watched thriller bark during Halloween and i thoroughly enjoyed it
If Sanji had actually trained to be something where fighting was required, do you think he'll be stronger than Zoro? Homie is incredible strong but he doesn't have an urger to fight like Zoro. He wants to be a chef, he doesn't NEED to fight. Zoro must fight in order to back his desire to be the best swordsman.
You guys remember when people would freak out after they seen luffy had a devil fruit? Good times
5:13 I mean SOME would even say combat wise having ALL of the Straw Hats fight one enemy to bring him down is something that still has to be surpassed and I really hope we get a mirror of that in the New World someday.
Vivi is a diplomat she would be great in situations where the straw hat get themselves captured by kingdom (like in fishman island) and need negotiation when force would not work. Cause to be honest the crew has been lucky not to run into countries that could over power them (I mean not itâs virtually impossible to overpower the crew but back in the day it was possible).
My headcanon is that Shanks let his arm be taken to show Luffy the danger of the seas and how much you must be willing to sacrifice for your friends when you're a great captain.
I kinda like that too.
Sure, but wouldn't that also make him grossly irresponsible?
He would actively making himself weaker, meaning he would be putting his friends and crew mates at greater risk of being killed my his enemies.
@@idiom2805 Your theory would make sense, if Shanks wasn't the second strongest Yonko who even can go toe to toe with Kaido.... Big Mom is even afraid of him, and in the recent chapters Kaido said there was only a few people that has ever harmed Kaido and Shanks was one of them, not Big Mom and certainly not Black Beard. Shanks even stopped the war between WhiteBeard's crew, Black Beard, and the Marines. Shanks was even able to go toe to toe with Mihawk with one arm, Mihawk beat him of course but still that's a feat with the world's greatest swordsmen. Shanks already knew what he was doing, and even has the best control over his Haki in One Piece (aside from Rogers). Yes he wasn't an emperor at the time when he gave up his arm but I'm sure he had confidence in himself, it was honestly a perfect way to convince Luffy that the sea wasn't all fun and games, it pushed Luffy to train more and always aim to be the strongest so he can help his friends.
@@coolerplays3477 Shanks losing an arm to a weak sea monster is a plot hole it's that simple really guys
@@coolerplays3477 You confirmed what I just said.
He lost to Mihawk, someone who was supposed to be his equal before he lost an arm.
It doesn't matter how strong he is, losing an arm will always put someone at a disadvantage in a fight, that's common sense.
