$30 M per year would make him the 40th highest paid player (behind Gordon Hayward) and take up less than 1/4 of the cap if it started in 2022-2023. Sure, he's not currently a top 50 player, but the contract is totally reasonable considering what he could be in a few years. I don't think people understand how much the cap has gone up in the last 10 years really.
I knew the perception of the market was cooked when people were surprised about the mikal bridges contract (in which he might have be UNDERPAID loool) Good basketball players and potentially good basketball players aint walking out the door for less than 25M most of the time
But they are paying it out of THEIR OWN POCKETS brother don't you UNDERSTAND Looool super reasonable deal that won't kill them in the long run if he turns out to not be #thatguypal
It's fine for the level of playmaker you can reasonably expect him to be, because his default instinct is to put that ball up lol Idk if his height limits his ability to deliver skip passes directly off the dribble but he tends to jump a lot to make those passes, particularly the ones in the corner. But it is a read he recognizes and can make well enough to play alongside Garland and with with roll threat like allen If he were the primary initiator I'd be a little more weary of his role as a playmaker

I personally think people are over reacting to the 120 mil. In todays NBA that’s a fair contract

What do you think about Donovan Mitchell's skip-passing and passing off kickouts?
