It's so hard to watch him perform this at the CMA Awards in October of 23. Toby was saying goodbye. My heart is broken. RIP TOBY KEITH. What an amazing and incredible man.

Originally released back in 2019. It was used for the movie The Mule with Clint Eastwood. You need to watch him sing it at the 2023 County People Choice Awards. It was kind of sad watching him.

It's such a shame we have such a devastating illness, that is so brutal and unforgiving on the human body, its so sad for the passing of Toby Keith, such a generous person with his time to the fan's who adore him and his music, a terrible loss for his family this is a really sad song to listen to knowing what he was going through in life.
Goodbye to a great person, great family man, and we were blessed to have him in our lives through his music. R.I.P. 🥺🥺🙏🙏

Hey, my grandfather was Robert Waldorf. He passed today may 14 2024 at 930 this morning. He sent me this video in January when he moved in with my family. He battled his cancer very hard but with other complications he didn’t make it. Thank you guys for your support!

Toby wrote it for Clint Eastwood and he used it in his movie “The Mule”. Toby wrote this before he found out he had cancer and once he did find out, the song sort of applied to the cancer. I think it refers to the the old person that lives in each of us. Because truly, age isn’t the number, it’s how you think and how you feel. Age comes from within, not from the date on the calendar.

The song was written in the late 2010's, after a conversation Toby had with Clint Eastwood and first recorded by Willie Nelson. The song appears in Clint's movie "The Mule"'

Yes, it was for the movie Mule. Clint said he doesn't let the old man in to Toby at a golf tourney when toby asked how he does it. Sadly the song that Toby wrote was more about his life. RIP!

He wrote this for Clint Eastwood for his birthday & Clint used it in his movie 'The Mule'. As you said, Toby has been suffering for a long time & undergoing Cancer treatment. He sang this song a couple weeks again on a country award show & the poor guy looks so old & frail. It broke my heart. I am praying hard that he beats the Cancer. He is one of my all time favs. Another beautiful song by Toby is 'Cryin' for me' about his friend Wayman Tisdale. AMAZING song & video. Toby also has some of the funniest songs/videos ever made. 'As good as I once was', 'How do you like me now?', 'I wanna talk about me', 'Trailerhood' & so many more. He also has an amazing video with his duet with Willie Nelson' called 'Beer for my horses'. It's like a mini movie!! Prayers for @farmdaddy1555. I am so very sorry you are going thru this.

This was released in 2019 Toby wrote it for a movie called the Mule with Clint Eastwood in it. He was going to change the lyrics but once Clint and the producers heard it they said leave it as is it fits the movie storyline perfect. Don you need to if you haven't seen it watch Toby's performance of this song on the country music people's choice awards. His wife and him both couldn't fight back tears. Prayers sent to Robert.

Prayers to you and all us cancer survivors. It was June 15, 2021 for me which makes this song special. The best clip of this song was a couple weeks ago during an award show. Toby sang, or lip sang it. I cant believe he can sing those words going through what Toby is going through currently. I saw the movie "The Mule", Clint Eastwood played this song at the very end. Such a motivation for me. I've told many neighbors about Clint Eastwood's line, "Don't let the old man in". I mow, shovel, snowblow numerous people's property around me for free. I tell them I'm not letting the old man in. No rockin chair and watching game shows for me. Thanks for choosing this song.

Willie Nelson sang this in the mule but what you can take away from this song willie Nelson he’s looking at from being 90 years old he’s lived his life and doesn’t wanna leave just yet. Then if you watch Toby sing this song he’s fighting back the tears his wife is crying in the audience he’s looking at he is to young to die he has a whole life a head of him responsibilities to the ones he loves his struggles with the pain from the cancer by tried really hard to not let death in to his house because if you invite the old man of death in it’s over so fight every day

Actually, Toby was diagnosed with stomach cancer back in 21. He decided to keep it private, He just finally decided to come out and talk about it in the last couple of months. I would suggest watching the Peoples Choice Country Awards show from a couple weeks ago, he sings it live. That big man who used to be about 285 lbs is now down to probably 185. He's skinny as can be.
Sorry to hear you've been diagnosed with the crap too Robert. My uncle, who's 84 years old, the last child and brother to my daddy, my daddy died back in 2002 with colon cancer, there were a total of 11 siblings, is now on his 3rd round of cancer. He also lost a son who was just 30 years old to brain stem cancer, I think he has decided to heck with trying to fight it this time. He's tired and ready to go home to his family that's waiting for him on the other side. Can't say that I blame him, the last 20 years has been pretty rough on him. My thoughts and prayers go out to you Farmdaddy.
