    Good video. Thanks for doing this. Not many reviews of the 39mm out there and yours is the newer green dial variant.
    I rate this one highly among the Swiss Made integrated bracelet design. 👍

    Excellent review. I purchased this watch in the black dial variant back in April and sold it about a month later. I always regretted selling it so I just picked it up again at a great price from a grey market site. The watch feels of quality and is incredibly well constructed. It’s one of the best value propositions out there and I wouldn’t hesitate to say that you probably won’t find a better watch under the $2k price point (Monta might come close). The fact that it has 200M of water resistance at less then 11mm thick is pretty amazing. It’s highly versatile and can easily be your only watch for those 1 watch hobbyists out there (like myself).

      It’s definitely a great watch no doubt! Glad you enjoy yours. Sometimes you don’t realize how much you love it until you let it go as they say. For me almost all the watches I’ve rebought have solidified their place in my collection even more

    Thanks for reviewing this piece! I am currently saving for my birthday next year, was looking for a watch in the $1500-$2000 price range, and this was one of the pieces I was researching. Great review!

    You're right about the markings on the bezel; they're not well-suited to the watch, which looks very dressy with that beautiful dial decoration - which you pronounced absolutely correctly, by the way. Green's my favourite colour too, though I prefer olive green over emerald. And homagey though it may be, I do like that integrated bracelet even if it doesn't taper toward the clasp as much as it could. And because the watch is otherwise so dressy, if you found an off-market plain polished bezel for it, you'd be in business!

    I remember having this conversation with you in the comments, before it was green you were kind of down on it. This is a really well finished watch, one of the best in its range. Alright, clicking play now!

    Great and thorough review 👌🏼 !! You already reviewed the Formex Essence 39, I’m thorn between the two .. Which one would you recommend ? (I will go for the blue dial, even if the green looks like a great option 😄)

      Thank you and that is definitely a hard choice! I would say as long as you are ok with the homage look of the Maurice, it may be a little better. Both have fantastic dials and case shapes so it just comes down to which you would wear more. The formex is a little sportier while the Maurice is dressier

    Very comprehensive review. I’d suggest that the perlage on the inside of the clasp sums up how I feel about this watch: it’s trying too hard. But hey, we all can’t love the same stuff. Great to see the Kurono!

    • @theknightswatch
      @theknightswatch  Před 2 lety

      Very fair point! After handling this watch I do wish Maurice lacroix would put this dial into something more unique, or at the least something less directly copying AP. The elements are great but it isn’t for me as it stands!

      @Bob_In_Thailand Před 2 lety

      I enjoyed your review but just my take. I bought the watch back in 2018 and really enjoy this watch, I also just bought my first Kurono what a stark difference in watches anyways I have no problem with the perlage on the clasp I think it is a nice added touch. I think they should have created a nicer signed emblem on the clasp like the AP has. The ML M on the clasp is barely noticeable.I have no problem with the claws on the bezel they are a evolution of the Calypso back from the 90's. I believe that of they had changed the shape of the bezel other then circular they would have really got bashed for being an AP homage

    Had this in blue in the bigger size . I quite liked it but in the end the highly polished rectangles on the bezel annoyed me they scratched and found it very noticeable and quite irritating..

    Nice review. But I always wonder where this claim comes from that the Aikon is a Royal Oak clone. A clone is something that has the same design as the original and can only be identified by a look onto the dioal's branding. But even from afar you can easily recognize that it is an Aikon, not a Royal Oak. Claws on the Aikon, screws on the AP. In this case Hublot is much closer to the AP appearance than ML imo. The AP bracelet also has much shorter inner parts than the ML has. So the closest detail between these two is in my opinion the dial but even here there are noticeable differences. AP has a waffle design while on the Aikon it is more diamond shaped which cataches and reflects the light in a different way. And ML used much bolder colors than AP does.
    Btw I don't own them but if I had the money and were willing to spend that much on a watch I wouldn't have a problem having them both next to each other in my collection.

    Hey ! I’m trying to buy my first “luxury” watch.
    I’m from Slovenia and here i could buy this exact watch or the tag heuer quartz aquaracer. Or if I would saved a little bit more money I could get Tudor Royal.
    I’m new to watches and I really don’t know that much about them. Could you maybe advice me in which direction should I go..
    i know that everyone one has their own opinion, but I want to hear yours.
    Thank you !

    • @theknightswatch
      @theknightswatch  Před 2 lety +1

      Congrats in advance on your first watch man. For me the Tudor Royal isn’t quite worth the price so I wouldn’t stretch it for that watch. This Aikon is fantastic value for the money. The only other brand I would say would be great to look at would be Christopher ward. I personally wouldn’t go for the Tag just because I know there better quality stuff for the money. Of course it’s up to you but if it was my money the Maurice lacroix is a fantastic option but take a serious look at what Christopher Ward has to offer too. Let me know what you end up with!

      People. Do you really like Tudor watches? Rude, I don't think there are uglier watches than Tudor. They should cost $300 or less. The Tudor hands are more suited to a farm tractor than a watch. This delight is pathetic... watch less ads.

    • @theknightswatch

    You said the 42mm would also fit your 6.5 inch wrist but which one do you prefer 39 or 42?

    • @theknightswatch
      @theknightswatch  Před rokem +1

      The 39 for sure. More proportional and more comfortable. The 42 fit but it is a large watch. So if you purely are looking for something with wrist presence then maybe 42

  • @stuartselkirk7581

    Would like to say good review. I know how it feels, looks and all about the bracelet. But, and this is common among all watch reviews, I have no idea if it keeps accurate time! I may be wrong but I would have thought a main purpose of a watch is to tell the time, not how it looks on the wrist. It's like reviewing a car and saying it is nice to sit in and looks good but nothing about how it drives!

    • @theknightswatch
      @theknightswatch  Před rokem

      After owning over 200 watches the accuracy of the watch is the last thing I care about and pretty much never comes to mind. A watch to me is more of a functional art piece on the wrist and something visually enjoyable. All watches keep relatively the same accuracy and there can be variations especially on the lower end but in this modern world, a watch isn’t the only way to tell time. And if you need to be able to tell time down to the second, and in some way it’s a “life or death” situation to know that exact second, buy a quartz or digital watch
