BRYAN: How do you keep from feeling anxious about results when it relates to one's livelihood?
BK: Whose business is it whom they hire?
BRYAN: Their business.
BK: And what happens to your life when you mentally go into their business?
BRYAN: That's where the anxiety comes in.
BK: For all of you, I invite you to notice how much effort it takes to be in someone else's business. This noticing can bring you right back to your own business. You are a miracle being lived, but when you're out of your business, you miss what's really going on.

Oh my gosh I loved the perspective of the mind over-riding the first clear direction; "What for?", "It's not my turn," "It's his turn," "This would be 5 days in a row." What's funny is that I see those over-rides having babies so then it turns into "He doesn't respect my time," "He takes me for granted," "Does he know how hard I worked today?"...and the next thing you know, you're in their fighting with your partner (in your mind) and he's in there, you know, watching a movie.
I can totally relate. This is where fights come from...the story we play in our heads that aren't truly true...lol!

I just had a bit of an epiphany listening to this. For the past 3 days, I've been believing my thoughts, people, and situations, and not having a job. It never occurred to me to just STOP believing my thoughts.
I have literally been watching all of these. Learn so much each time. Thank you for this gift 🙏🏼

I have been using The Work app, and I love it. I use everyday disturbances to do the inquiry work, and I am always surprised what I find out when I truly question myself and my beliefs. The layers I am able to peel back always start with something really minor in my everyday life....when I look at it, I really do see where it always - always - comes back to my illusional belief system. This is un-brainwashing yourself with Love and watching Byron Katie helps so much.

There is a huge difference between being negative and self-denial, but I am sure that his bills will remind him of how unemployed he is by the end of the month. ✌🏼
Just release the outcome that you need food/shelter. Just that easy!
There's nothing he can do about it tho. It's not like he can force someone to employ him
I lost the the plot of this conversation when she asked (about being unemployed) "is that true?" and he just said "No." It felt like a denial of reality. Lets face it, in the meaning that this word has in society (gainful employment) he is unemployed. Don't deny how you feel.
Lone Gun Nut well it's his right to deny what I perceive as his reality (I too thought he was in denial, but then realized it's my perception). After that she had some very powerful insights. Let's keep in mind he had the freedom to say 'yes, it's true, I am unemployed'. That happens across many videos (an example that pops to my mind is her interview with Oprah where she asks if Oprah was sure of what she was saying and Oprah replied yes, it's true).
Maybe a better question would have been: "I am still unemployed because I am gay. Is that true?".....
Nope.
But the thought is making him suffer. So why be so attached to the thought? The though is just a matter of perception. No more real than the idea of Wednesday. What you call Wednesday, I'd call Thursday, because of where I am on the International Date Line.
Reality is constructed.
So if it's constructed, and thoughts are constructed, why not just give up the thoughts that are causing you suffering. Doesn't mean you have to become a useless, floppy do-nothing. Just get to a place of peace with who and where you are and then act to change your circumstances as you see fit from that place of peace.
Sure, go ahead, you can deny facts in our consensual reality but only to your own detriment. Deny gravity exists and go jump off a high building, see how that works for you!....That's what people call "delusional."
In my opinion, if you want to give up more thoughts they should be more specific. Give up the thoughts "my self-worth is determined by my income" or "I am a worthless because I am unemployed."
Very employed wow! Can you do the dishes.....oh yes you can do anything......can you do laundry......that's you're job...your fully employed
