Armondo: If your on a budget You can use a 5 dollar Shower curtain.....ON A $2,000 LIGHT LMAOOOOO
5 000$ set up
exactly
😂😂😂😂😂
hahahaha
If you bought a $2000 light, you might be on a budget for awhile and need this trick... lol
Armando to followers: "What you want to see?"
Followers: "Help with lighting"
Armando: "Well first, you get yourself about $150,000..."
:)
Lol $150K is a stretch here. But I’ve included budget options in link and you can do this same setup for under $500 easily!
jajajaja meanwhile I have 100$ in my pockets
hahah! true!
@@mondobytes Maybe do THAT video, then?
Chase Daley I already have on Instagram millions of times.
*For everyone complaining that it’s “too expensive “ watch this:* czcams.com/video/nhf__hjkREQ/video.html
Here’s another one: czcams.com/video/OvK7Ysv42RU/video.html
Armando Ferreira man please can you refere me in a school in Mew York ?
I've been refreshing all day for this!
Edit: Love the idea of the blinds with the cookie-cutter! Ended up using a cardboard box and cutting lines into it lol!
Dang, I had no idea your room was so bright since you make your image so moody, haha. I loved this. Lighting is so much fun!
One of the best lighting tutorials on CZcams. Explained well with examples. Highly recommend viewing.
Armando you nail it, the way you explain for anyone to understand how important is knowing how important is the knowledge of the lights in any shoot, that the difference can shows the control and you can create a great Dop.
Thanks for the video, Armando! Really inspiring not only to recreate this setup but also to become more creative with lighting!
Nothing new here, yet I stayed until the end because it's well done at perfect pace. Beautiful work!
I never NEVER thought about the effort or tools required to "set the mood" and tune the lighting in a video. Watching you here, I have learned a lot and I am motivated to try some new tricks.
*Spanish Version Here:* czcams.com/video/OgttAMGLlkY/video.html
Cool video dude. Nice to see how you go about it. Im planning yo get some new lights soon, still on budget but something that lets me get a softer look.
The only thing I can afford here is the gel 🤣
Awesome! I can binge watch lighting videos for days...!
By far, the best CZcams video on lighting, I've seen. Thank you!
Hi Sir, I'm from India from Advertising background. An Art director who is very much fond of lighting and EFX making. It was a good presentation. Thanks.
Lots of DIY ideas from this! Especially like the idea of making light patterns. Could easily do it with cardboard, but a jigsaw and a sheet of plywood would last longer. Light stand clamp to hold it, OR you could affix a small metal rod similar to what's showcased here. Best part? You can make your own custom pattern. Fun project! Thanks Armando.
As a filmmaker, I totally understand the concept behind the scene is just way more important than the budget! nice vid
Lighting is a topic that is often shown in other videos but not explained the way you did in this video. Understanding concepts, theory, reasoning behind lighting is extremely useful and kind of lacking on CZcams. Learned a lot here!
Man a lot of y’all complain so much, then get mad when people save all their good stuff for patreon or paid courses...
Just be glad that he gave the secret sauce behind a dope lighting set up for free...
I’m 75% through a lighting course I paid for, and they haven’t broken down a lighting set in this depth yet...
Instead of chastising him for showing off his gear, look at it as motivation to step your game up so you can get there too... He didn’t start with a C500... so why hate on the fact that he worked his way up to one? Did y’all talk trash when he had a 70D or Gh5 (Don’t know if he ever had those just an example)
Shit he got me ready to sell my 3 pocket 6k cameras & Eva 1 and buy a c500 or maybe it’s little brother...
incredible scenes mate
I've had 3-4 EUREKA moments and I'm only halfway through the video. Thanks so much for this!!
I love how in the before picture for the thumbnail u look less enthused Lolol but in the after you glowing and happy 😆
This is so helpful. Thank you for sharing Armando.
Amazing lighting setup, thanks for sharing wonderful lighting ideas
It’s a old video but I had to say it. Man for CZcams your lighting is next level. Thanks
Puts cheap blue film on aperture 300d. "Just wanted to let you know you can do this on a budget" 😂
LOL i was literally about to comment this. glad someone else was thinking the same
Hollywood budget lol
LOL scrolled into comments just to see if this had already been said
Excellent Work. I’ll give this a shot with my daughters CZcams video tonight. Thanks 🙏🏾
I loved that this video was creative and not just another 3 point or 5 point lighting flick, which every blogger puts out .... very refreshing
I love this guy! He’s like Marie Antoinette haha, love the videos. I’m over here all excited because I bough a jib one with a canon c200 and this guy is doing CZcams Lighting with a $5000+ budget. This guy is next level and doesn’t even realize is customer base 😋
Lighting tips and tricks: First things first, buy 5000$ in lights and accessories. 😂
Great content. I learned a lot about lighting
I'm very happy finding this Chanel thank you very much Armando
A million videos in on this subject and this by far is my favorite!!! Beautifully done my friend and many many thanks you :)
Quality of the light and video is huge on second setup. Thanks for tutorial!
This video deserves 100M views really got the idea to light up my video 😊♥️
this video should have millions of views
Utterly brilliant breakdown. Thanks so much !
Thanks for the great content, Armando. I like your videos. Here, thanks for the big "gobo" ideas. I didn't know such big and elegant ones exist!
Guys... You can replicate this exactly lighting using budget equipment, just be creative. The most important thing he made was show us how he designed the lighting, this is the main subject in this video. You absolutely cannot do what he did here without the knowledge, even with the most expensive gears. Thx Armando for the tips, I will try my best to use those ideas with a lot of lamps, cheaper LEDs and etc haha
Lighting setup under a million dollars!! 😍😍
I just used your C200 LUT (from back in the day) on some Canon C70 footage for look. It's great. About 25% on a color corrected image. Veddy nice.
That was terrific, Armando. Not really on a budget, but definitely the mood I love for an A Roll. I was wondering about the effect on the background and now you explained it. Thank you. Great video
Great informative video and nice to see the build-up. Take away, Armando, if it is a "light" it is his favorite light!!
Dang! Awesome stuff. I just use a window. Gotta step it up!!
Amazing video man! Can never have too many lighting tips
"Just wanted to let you know you can do this on a budget"... almost punched my monitor at that point...
J. Santz you must have missed the Pin comment, good thing you didn’t punch your monitor so you can watch the budget version
@@mondobytes Armando, with all due respect... I have reached an age and a salary that allows me to buy the content of your room, and yet I found myself shaking my head while watching this video.
I am sure it wasn't your intention, and yet (IMHO) it feels like you are rubbing your wealth in the face of people who will never be able to afford a fraction of what you showcased.
I like your tutorials, and other videos like the collaborations with other CZcamsrs, but with this one I think you missed the mark.
@@bufordmaddogtannen - I don't think he's missed the mark because it's all theoretical, you can produce similar at a fraction of the cost, I'm talking cutting out from cardboard instead of those cookies, like he said, shower curtains stretched onto a wooden frame to act as a diffuser... just get creative. It's useful to see what pro-level equipment is out there for those branching out into videography as a career.
Well, a few things:
1) It wasn't mentioned in the title or intro of the video that it's intention was to be on ANY kind of budget. He clearly is trying to give instruction on how he makes his videos and creates his lighting setups, in an effort to teach his lighting methods. The video does exactly that.
2) But as someone who makes videos, Armando, you should have realized the audience is going to "pull back" the second it becomes clear that most of these tips are not financially possible for them. I feel most people would watch this video for APPLICABLE lighting advice.
If you're looking for a more budget friendly, I dug through several and found Epic Light Media made a great video "How to light a SIMPLE INTERVIEW in a Boring Room" using equipment from Home Depot.
Decided to create a cinematic lighting setup video for less than $100. inspired by this, one of my first videos! Thanks for the content. So cool! Stay safe
Great step-by-step tutorial on lighting for an interview/person. Look the teal/orange color treatment. Love to see your "take" on lighting a outdoor night scene (without spending the entire budget on one shot).
This video shows me what should I do for video making, it is very helpful. Much appreciate you.
Holy sh*t this was a great breakdown on lighting. Definitely learned a lot. You should totally do a whole series on lighting styles. Thanks Armando!
Excellent video, so clear. I haven't looked through your channel yet so maybe you've already covered this, but could you do a video on what you use to hold lights, cookies, reflectors, etc? I have a couple reflectors I've used here and there but I've just been taping them to mic stands (filming in a studio) and that generally only lets me hang them, so positioning them at angles can be very tricky. I'd love to understand more about lighting stands, C-stands, clamps, etc. Excited to watch more of your videos!
Love how you explain the how and why which makes what lights you use irrelevant so we can use what we have to achieve a similar look. Thank you Sir
I’m not even interested in studio lighting… but you made it interesting!
3:16 If you're able to afford the Luxli led light, you're no longer on a budget. Just saying... :P
I don’t recall him ever saying this was a budget video, so why is everyone complaining lol, it isn’t his fault he has access to God level video tech 😂 just take the basic concept and apply it to your setup, at the end of the day light is light and it behaves in the same general way
agreed. It clearly says techniques and tips. Nothing to do with cost of gear. You can work the same look with a less expensive gear
Nice video Armando! Great breakdown
Thanks man, hope you’re doing good my friend.
By far this is the best video I’ve ever seen on video lighting. You are awesome. Please keep these lighting videos coming. Thank you so much
Great results Armando. Thank you for showing your setup. Very helpful. :)
Beautiful beautiful work thank you
Awesome video right there Armando! Quiero ver más de este tipo! Gracias y saludos bro!
Still one of the best videos on this topic!
Great lighting breakdown, really enjoy your content!!
This is one of the best lighting examples I have seen on youtube. So good and simple to understand.
What an awesome video. Thank you for sharing these tips!
Wow you made this video in spanish too! Amazing! You really deserve 1 million subs
I just subscribed Armando Ferreira
, good stuff! Easy to listen to and your straight to the point with some killer tips and info. What's funny is all these people complaining about price of gear. Like you MUST setup you're own set using the cheapest of cheap. Hell no. If your shooting a vid on "setup using budget gear" then sure, but you told us what YOU do for YOUR set. This means you use what YOU want and why not go all out on your setup. I personally loved it because the concepts were the same budget or not and you shared with us some cool ideas that can relate to both budget minded creators and pro's. Plus if every video was on budget gear, then what motivation would you have to get gear for the next level. :)
I've criticized some of your videos in the past but NEVER AGAIN.
Here I am editing a wedding video shot during golden hour ( EOS-R / c-log / Hoya ND filter)
But for some reason I just can't seem to color correct nor color grade properly even with all the amazing & expensive luts I own that save me every time.
And just when I lost all hope the only FREE lut in my inventory came to the rescue - your "Armando c200 LUT". Dropped it down to about 40% and desaturate the orange skin tones and BAM! It just looks amazing now. Thank you so much.
Maybe you should learn how to color grade instead.
You are awesome Armando !
Thanks so much for your videos. Binging these hard and taking notes.
Such a great video Armando!
Thanks man!
Very helpful tips. Thanks, Armando!
I like your Video on lighting. Tips are practical. Thanks.
This is frikkin amazing and super helpful. Thank you so much!
I am a huge fan of your video look, well done! Also thanks for the walk through awesome info 👊🏼
Thanks man!
Incredible , Learning A Lot From You . Keep Making More Videos On Lightning. Specially On Portraits With 2 Light And 3 Light Setup .
When it comes to the subject of Lighting I always remember Dean Collins; his approach, philosophy, and teaching I find usable in filming. No disrespect to you sir. Thanks for making a video on the subject.
Make more of these.. fantastic examples and very usable even if on a budget.
looks really good. this video should give people ideas that even if they can't afford all this at once. which honestly if you are a CZcamsr who is making it a profession this is what you should strive for. but also if they can't afford it, it shows ways that if you are creative, you can accomplish something similar. that would be a another cool video. trying to create this without the budget lol
would be interested to hear what the camera settings were for this clip. great vid, picked up some of the gear!
I am going to go out on a limb and attempt to answer that from looking at the video. First of all there is some motion blur when he moves his hands in the "actual" footage so I am guessing he shot it at 24 fps. This means his shutter speed was around 1/50s using the 180 degree rule. He shoots Canon and most good Canon lenses are at least f/2.8 so I am guessing he is at f/2.8 here since the background is pretty blurry but could be at f/4 or even f/5.6 or more because his entire face is in focus the whole time and f/2.8 has a pretty shallow DOF. He is using some very bright lights, so ISO has got to be pretty low. not sure what the native ISO on a C500 is but he probably set it to somewhere around 160 or 320 if native ISO is the same as their DSLRs. Maybe 640 to match up with the more dimly lit background of the scene but I image it is a lower number for sure. I'd be curious to know how close I am from Armando...
Absolutely stunning! This is almost the exact look I’m trying to achieve. The quality of your lights are far above average but you did a wonderful job explaining the practicality of how to achieve this look. For some reason the light bulb came on for me when you explained it 😉. Thank you. Blessings.
Btw, you should mention the spanish version at the beginning, not end, as im unlikely to go back and watch in spanish but more likely to switch (if im spanish) at the beginning.
I'm Spanish and l'd still watch it in English. However, I wanted to check the Spanish version (out of curiosity) but l can't find the link...
Wow man, the difference is amazing.
Great video. I'll probably watch it like 50 times because I need in studio lighting help. I continue to have glare on my glasses and it drives me nuts. Thanks for sharing. 🥂
Love your videos Armando, this one is great, as someone who has just started a channel and trying to up my lighting game this was perfect 👌, thanks!
That shelf you have is sick!
Very nicely done video. I was looking for a similar video for photography, but it works much better. Thanks for sharing.
You Rock Armando!!!
This is awesome! Thank you 🙏🏾
Brilliant, you should make much cheaper lighting and see from there whether it is doable with great result or not, I think people will love it. Video like this always inspire me. thanks a lot for that Armando since I struggled on my CZcams channel to get the best result with my face during tutorials. Thanks a lot
Jefri lay just look at my pinned comment
Great breakdown and video! Thanks for taking the time
Bruh , your lighting setup literally = epic
Very cool! Love the step by step set up!!!
Thank you soo much. I really love your lighting setup. Love From Bangladesh ❤
This was an awesome video, thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching 🤙🏽
Thanks for this video Armando! Having only started on CZcams, your set up is something I'm aspiring to get down the track. Good stuff!
AWSOME! The best video I ever seen in my life! S2
I loved the simplicity of the video but yet very informative. One of your best videos!
Excellent video. Thank you for putting it up.
Looks fantastic man. Thanks for the tips. I’m going to start implementing some of these very soon!
Not everyone has the money to buy that gear, but not everybody is on a budget as limited as the budget that constrains some of the video makers who comment, so don't be afraid to keep doing posts that aren't restricted to small budgets. There are a lot of other people who are doing posts on how to vlog, stream, or shoot films for $100. Video makers are doing good work on every size budget, even the bigger budgets, and most of us appreciate some help.
